Default Best turbine value??

I am purchasing my first turbine and was wondering if I could get some input on what is thought to be the best turbine for the money and why? Also, if anyone has any info on where I can get good prices on turbines that would be great to. I am looking for a turbine in the 17 to 22 lb range for thrust and want full auto start. Thanks for the feedback

Default Turbine Value

Hi gerns

The SimJet line of Turbines provide a wide range of thrust levels at a very good price point. They are all auto-start turbines with the exception of the 700M which is strictly manual start. Prices range from US$1899(700M) to US$2899(3000). For more info, please check out the SimJet website at www.simjet.com or our website at www.greatnorthernmodels.com.

Default Best turbine

Gerns,

I you go to search and type "best turbine" you will find about 2000.000 posts about this issue. This forum seems to be divided like this

JetCat 40%
AMT 25%
TJT 15%
Wren 10%
RAM 9%
BMT, Simjet, swb 1%

AMT is not autostart thou. They are working on it I believe. Reliable engines but a bit on the heavy and thirsty side.

As it is right now, JetCat is by far the safest way to go I you want autostart. They have by far the best reputation on the American market. TJT is getting extremely good reviews also, and they should be launching US sales in October.

Hope this helps

Brian

Default Consider resale value...

Also consider resale value. You'll most likely want to move up in size later on and if you stick to the popular/high demand brand(s) it'll sell in a couple of days in the classifieds here.
My choice at this time is the JetCat.

Regarding the JetCat there's a couple of online shops that are running specials where you buy the JetCat turbine (P-80) and you get a Kangaroo or HotSpot sport jet for "free". If you're already working on another turbine project, then sell the sport jet for ~$700 and consider it a rebate on the turbine purchase.....

Good Luck!

Hi.

Look @ www.modellturbine.de ...
Mr FRANK is a german turbine builder, that sells his turbines very cheap. He produces a lot of turbines and parts since 1996...thrust range from 95N turbine- 150N!

My TJ67(self starting with PROJET ECU (included!)(= www.projet-ecu.de)) produces 95N thrust, weight, size is the same as JetCat P80.Quality is very good....

Service is great: mostly,it takes only one week ,than you have your turbine back.

In Germany a lot of people buy turbines from FRANK, because of the price(P80=3000€, TJ 67= 1800€), the superb and friendly service(you can call him every time), and the POWer of his engines

There is also another firm, poducing low cost high quality engines: www.trefz-gmbh.de
Great turbine, 85N, you can get it as kit,or complete set, ready to run.Including all selfstarting equipment.

If you have any questions, mail to me,i try to answer with my german english !
If you wish to contact Mr Frank, you can also mail to me(I think he doesn´t speak english).

Have a nice day,
Julian

Default My recommendation

Gern, I recommend buying a used ram 750 or 1000 full auto start. You can get them pretty cheap now. I have seen them as low as $1200. Have Carlos at RTI look at it and service it, if it needs it. You'll have a great turbine for low cost. I have 2 Ram 1000s full auto start and they work flawlessly. I think this is the best way to go to get started. Carlos will be at superman or you can reach him at 786-303-3243.
