Reasonable enough day
....spot or two of rain...just as we were having lunch
After a 3 hour drive we walked in the front door straight into the Wren "Centre of Excellence" engineering exhibition ....just as Sara, in the middle of a huge crowd was opening her tin of home made cakes..
..unbelievable timing and good luck indeed, this coupled with the new found reach of an Olympic javelin thrower started us off well
...A fantastic Helli display ..some great control line demo's out in the " Winners enclosure " and the Boomerang Intro double act were ace...

...Who was it stuck a Weston Magnum to the track fence[:@]..

Well,
Being english its only a bit of water, need the oilskins and galoshers, money for the coagulant vein Burger (more grease than John Travolta!), a pac a mac incase the oil on the skins washes off, a few sheckles in the pocket and a trip to the Wren stand at 11 with a cup of coffee.
Were leaving on the 17 seater driven by Dave, so I can sleep (I remember when he parked his Audi Quattro upside down in a ditch.......) so best sleeping!!!
Regarding numbers difficult to tell as no FA cup final today but if weather's crap........??
As Traplet did it this year, any difference to Nexus??

I have been going to Sandown for years and I have to say that this year was the worst show ever, more expensive and less stalls than ever. Flying was pretty rubish too.
I mean £2.80 for a bacon roll....... come on, and the bar had run out of beer........ never again

Have to agree with DennisMate on the food front,
A ham and cheese slightly warmed sandwich, it was supposed to be a toastie £2.70!!!!!!!!!![:'(]
I could have hired a chef for less!!! Numbers were definitely down, I could even get to see some of the more popular stands and what they were selling. The flying with some notable exceptions has become quite samey.[:-]
Those 3D helicopters are amazingl, the feat of the pilot most incredible, one is impressive, two is incredible three is becoming a bit repetitive methinks....[X(]
Managed to stock up on some stuff though, still working on the Facet DennisMate, getting there oh so slowly but finally surely!!![8D]

Gents,
After many years of getting ripped off for food and beer at these venues:
e.g. £3 for a cess burger and £3 for a pint of piss in a plastic cup
Take a packed lunch and a couple of cold beers.
Prepare the night before, not exactly difficult, and think of the £££'s you'll save.

Absolute rubbish, expensive to get in, expensive food, no real beer, all in all crap. Don't think I'll be going anymore. If I do I'll have to re-mortgage the house.
Looking forward to Wings and wheels, thats a real show. Pity it's going to be the last one.
