Uh..What size flight pack?
Most of my planes are 40-60 sized and I use the traditional RX flight pack. What is it a 600 MAH pack? Kinda wussie-ish for a Combat Models pusher or D/F jet!
I now have a Top Gun F-15 with about 7 servos in it and I was wondering what y'all are using in your D/F's...
As usual thanks in advance,
james

James,
My motto is the bigger the better..... If you can afford the weight, go 1500 to 1800 mah 5 cell pack. I would not use less than a 4 cell 1200 mah pack. At 5 cells you will have more torque but will also draw more amperage so go a few hundred mah higher on 5 cell packs....

Uh..What size flight pack?
I went the whole hog yesterday when I ordered the battery packs for my Boomerang.
I went with a pair of 3000mah NiMH. I'm going to use a 4 cell pack for the rx and a couple of the servos up front and a 5 cell pack for the rudder and elevator servos given they are way down the back of the model.
Overkill....definitely, but better safe than sorry.
Regards,
Garrett

lov2flyrc is right on the money. Use an 1100 to 1200mAH 4 cell pack or 1800 5 cell pack.
Rule of thumb is 150mAH for every servo as a first guess. Round up to the nearest available size. Add 25% for a 5 cell pack due to added current draw.
Adjust up mAH rating up if you want to fly more than 4 or 5 flights per charge or if you have heavy current draw situations.
Consider dual batteries for redundancy as suggested above also.
