Default Rafale vs Hotspot setup

I have been following the Hotspot info as to the proper setup on the elevator function. 15mm and 3/8 " up from neutral , has been mentioned.

My question is, should the elevator function on he Avonds Rafale be set to a positive angle from neutral and if so, how much ?

I have been flying the Rafale throughout the summer and it does take a long takeoff run to get it off the deck. (4500ft altitude). Would it help to set the Rafale up simular to the Hotspot?

Thanks,

Rod Springer

Default Rafale vs Hotspot setup

Avonds ducted fan plane, i found that the wheels are situated in the wrong place. Making the plane heavy on the nose, which made it take years to lift off.

Default Avonds Rafale

Mick,

Thanks for the reply. I have the nose gear extended as far as I can and still be able to retact it and close the gear doors. It does set at a positive angle of attack also.

I would still like to know if reflexing the elevators wuld make a difference on this plane. They are both Delta's so what is the difference here?

You can have the Canards slightly up..But if you have up elevation on, then it will climb during flight.
With my Rafale the main legs are moved forward an inch making it lighter on the nose.
If you can not move the main legs forward angle the retracts forward.

Default angling the mains forward

I don't know if I have the room to angle the mains forward without modifying the gear door setup, will have to play around a little. thanks for the tip....

Is the canards the only difference in the setups?

If the model flys ok, leave the flying setup alone. Just move the wheels either by angling them or moving the retracts forward.
