Hi,
1- How are you guys setting your stabs up as far as securing them ? Aeropoxy ? Screws ?
2- Are you guys using the new hi-flo valves for the gear and gear doors or whatever they call it ? I know the Mig 15 is or used to be very temperamental with the gear and doors not closing.
3- Any major areas that you feel more comfortable reinforcing <--------------- Very important
4- Is there a preffered CG location other than the one reccomended by the manufacturer ?
5- Balance the jet on the nose, level or a drop on the tail with a full UAT ?
Thanks in advance .......................... Johnny Hernandez

Hi,

Hi, Johnny... per factory directions, they are removable as is the vertical fin... mine are as solid as can be!
2- Are you guys using the new hi-flo valves for the gear and gear doors or whatever they call it ? I know the Mig 15 is or used to be very temperamental with the gear and doors not closing. I'm not using the hi-flo valves and have never had the gear system not work.... that is except once when I lost all air after takeoff and the gear were up and locked. The problem was leaking at the wing quick release three port air connectors. An adjustment to engage the air connector deeper fixed the problem! The one thing I know is make sure your doors fit good but not too tight, especially the one on the strut/wheel... keep the spring greased well so the strut comes back to the same fore/aft position every time... otherwise the door might catch in the up position... one or the other..
3- Any major areas that you feel more comfortable reinforcing <--------------- Very important
If you are building the new version the wing should already be reinforced just right.... gear block, rib area! The carbon fiber on the inside of the top sheeting is very important! Nothing else needs more than designed. Keep the all up weight as light as possible!
4- Is there a preffered CG location other than the one reccomended by the manufacturer ? I use the recomended CG... I do setup the fuel burn so that the large front tank empties first.. that way you are adjusted to perfect CG for last half of flight and landing! If you have any fuel in the front tank.. in my opinion the bird stays too nose heavy for a controlled fair.... elevator response is not good extended flair to landing with the front take full of fuel.
5- Balance the jet on the nose, level or a drop on the tail with a full UAT ? I balance mine level.. with the tanks empty and UAT as empty as it will get.... approx. half full..
Thanks in advance .......................... Johnny Hernandez
