Default RE: AMT?

I just spoke to Bruce at AMT .. They are execting new bearing cases in soon, and was told I could send in my 2 AT400s ....

I also found out AMT USA has not been sold YET ... and the final sale is still actually pending. The buyer has yet to come up with the $$

I will say an old manual air start at180 i have has surprised me in its performance and durability and i have thus far never had any problems with it ....

If I can get my at400s running reliably, i do like this engine .. my first one really kicked some a** on my King Cat ....

Yeah, what ever became of that? It was so awesome with it's Electrodynamic power distribution, on-board 12V compressor! Truly a magnificent creation.

I seem to remember Jim quoting 200 lbs. I remember that cause I think it was supposed to have about 200 lbs of thrust (4 x Olympii) too.

I saw it up close, it was a nice piece of workmanship, too.
Olympii...I like that. Better than Olympuses.

The Concorde is in West Virginia. It was not a part of the sale, Jim will keep it. It still looks as great as ever.

Talked to Jim yesterday, his Concord is probably going to the AMA museum.

I take it then that it never flew. I really cant see the point of all that fantastic work just to hang in a museum. Why doesent the owner getChip Hyde Or Jason Shulman to do the honours, with a full video team on hand of course.THEN hang it in a museum.Perhaps the owner has seen the results of the B52 effort. All of these are more than I could achieve in a lifetime.roo

It wasn't intended to hang in the museum. There was intent to have Terry Nisch (sp?) fly it, but supposedly the AMA interfered with those plans (see e.g. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=355186)
