Due to ongoing intervention by the FAA, I regret to inform everyone that Ozark Mountain Jets must be canceled for 2005. Hopefully the issues with the FAA can be resolved in such a timeframe that will allow us to revive this event for 2006.
For now, the issue with the FAA is in the hands of the AMA who will continue to work this to a conclusion, hopefully a favorable one.

I guess the sky WAS falling at least in the Ozarks.
I am surprised someone like Skeet did not give us a heads up on something like this[sm=bananahead.gif]

Steve, I heard the rumor about 6 weeks ago from a St Louis club that OMJ was cancelled but told them that it was all made up!!! I guess they really DID know the facts. Since this was 30 miles from my house I could have found us a new airport to fly at if I would have known about it sooner. Wish I could have helped in some way to keep it going. OMJ was one of the best events with all the flight time you could ever want. Missouri needs a Jet Event. The people in the area here were looking forward to the event as they do every year. Couldnt we have known about this sooner and done SOMETHING about it? See you at Ohio next week. -Patrick

With the recent development with HOH, I wonder how long before we get a bad news about Superman.

The rumor you heard is one that has been around every year that the event has been in existence.

Any updated information as to the status of SM-05 as of today?
A quick look [link=http://www.fltplan.com/AirportInformation/KM30.htm]HERE[/link] towards the bottom shows:
Federal Agreements
• NATIONAL PLAN OF INTEGRATED AIRPORT SYSTEMS (NPIAS)
• GRANT AGREEMENTS UNDER FAAP/ADAP/AIP
• ASSURANCES PURSUANT TO TITLE VI, CIVIL RIGHTS ACT OF 1964
Other information includes:
Ownership: PUBLICLY OWNED
Use: OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
Owner's Name: CITY OF METROPOLIS
And they only have one active runway.
Based on the current plight of HOH, I wish somebody would publish an agreement letter from FAA stating that SM-05 is a go to make all potential attendees feel warm and fuzzy
