I'm very happy with my Simjet 2300. I just bough an Artes Bee, but have not used it yet, so can't comment. I'm sure hope it's as good as mentioned in here before.

Warbird 1,
I sent you my home phone number and noticed your in NY. I'd be glad to help you get into turbines and can advise you one what you should get.
I fly my jets (All Turbine) out of Chenango Bridge Airport http://www.binghamtonaeros.com/ , 3500 foot runway and wide open!
Give me a call in the evening and I can help you out.
Plus I'm an AMA Turbine designator.
Regards,
Chris

I have been using the Artes Bees (JF-50) on my F-14 and am more than happy with them. Great engines and service (I have not needed yet but have heard).

Just my experience with the Artes Engine since that is what you inquired on.

Thanks - Adil

I have a Bee and five Jetcat's, and have to agree with Adil about the service. I have had service from Artes, great response time and turnaround. The Jetcats have never needed service, but would be glad to talk to you about both.

I currently have 4 Artes Turbines and will add another soon. Have had 2 occasions where service was required. Turnaround was approx 9 days from Mexico! Excellent products, excellent service!
The major difference you will see between Artes and other turbines is the shorter spool up time. I often do touch and goes with my Super Eagle powered Eurosport, 3 or four in a row no problem. Other turbines wouldn't even attempt to do this once! You can save a missed approach alot easier with a quick spool up! Since this will apparently be your first turbine experience, you should want the added safety/flexibility you can get with Artes to help save you from losing your plane on a not so perfect approach.

I do not own one, but probably will in the future. I met Eric this summer and he is a great guy who is very interested in making his business work. I honestly believe he will stand behind his products and make them right. He is very concerned with providing decent turn around time for service as well. I think they are very nice engines and you don;t hear many complaints about them. Appear very realiable and competively priced.

To those who have delt with artes service, what reason did the turbine have to go back to the factory? Just wondering because I am looking at my next turbine now I fly the FTE 500 and modelbau has great service, but I really want a turbine I don't have to send back quite so often.

I could actually use a little help and maybe you can PM me on how to contact ModelBau-USA. They don't have a phone number listed and have not replied to the email address listed under their "contact" section. I need to send in an engine and have it serviced.

I'd appreciate if you can help me out.

Thanks - Adil

I have a Rhino and two SuperBees..........................ALL THREE ENGINES START and RUN FLAWLESSLY. I've never had a problem except for one time the Rhino did'nt want to start. Has run fine ever since.

Two Superbees were sent in for servicing............(sand ingestion) both engines serviced and sent back out.............8 days flat.

These guys definately stand behind their word on the service and I have to admit................Felipe........is the only guy I know that will literally get on a plane from Mexico, fly 1500 miles and come to your doorstep to make sure you are satisfied (he did'nt even see my jet fly, just came solely to make sure the engines performed as advertised and left.)...........and I'm not the only one he's done this for. Fast spool up time, plenty of thrust and low fuel consumption. I try to fly what will work for whatever project I have going,(and I fly everything, does'nt matter who makes it.) These engines and the support that comes with them have been good to me. I would definately get another one if I needed it for an application in the future.

Adil,
It looks as though their web site is undergoing revision. Here is the phone number that worked a couple months ago (954) 476-5572.

Their shipping address is:
Modellbau USA, Inc.
741 Shotgun Rd.
Sunrise, FL 33326

Their service was outstanding at a very reasonable price.

Thanks Joe,

I just got off the phone with them. You are right, they are in the middle of revamping/updating their website but the numbers you listed are still good.

Hi Scott,

No problems with RTI - I have been using them for a while - Just needed onother avenue for myself and a friend and want to try them out as well.

Regards,

Adil

Thanks for the compliments Yes you are correct. The one on the AMA DVD is my Old one (RIP) and the one I had at FJ-2005. It did have the FTE/RAM 500's. I lost it in May or June (not 100%) of this year and just had to have another. I have a new one now which is painted in the same paint scheme except more or closer to scale which is powered by the Artes Bees. This one is lighter and stronger and flies better than the last one (3 flights so far on the new one). I dug up some pictures of the old one, the new one and my First one from FJ-2000 which was powered by OS-77 DFs. I sold that one and believe it was converted to turbines and still flying in the Far East.

Thanks - Adil
