Default JLT turbines?

Does anyone know anything about the JLT turbine? Model Engines, probably Australia's largest model importers/distributors are now selling these along with the 'Boomerang Intro' jet trainer made, I believe, by V-Mar in Vietnam or CM Pro. Looks like a Wren but........ - John.

JLT may stand for "Jet Lucky Turbines". We know that the guy who calls himself "Joe" was selling his engines under this brand name in China and South-East Asia. Our US dealer, Larry Wolfe, saw the engines at a model fair in China some time ago.

"Looks like a Wren...." but it is definitely NOT a Wren.

Hi Sara, is nothing sacred, they are even copying your 'house colours' now! Like Kermit the frog said, it's not easy being green'.
Most people I have spoken to think that even at the 'bargain' price these things are carrying it's still too much money to risk instead of buying the real deal. When I priced a Mk3 autostart in Oz it was about 50% more than the current ask for the JLT. - John.

Hi John,
Heard on the grapevine at Wangaratta that Model Engines are not going ahead with sales of the JLT turbine.
No explanations as to why.
Russell.

They were advertised in an Australian magazine for A$2200 with full auto start I believe (the ad was a bit ambiguous) and around A$1200 for the basic engine with no ECU etc.

Russell, I'm sure Model Engines would like to get on the Jet bandwagon but they have (well it appears that way to me) to have a good reputation for distributing mostly quality goods and would not want to spoil things by getting involved with products that would dirty their good name.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this engine is good or bad. I think a lot of posts on forums rubbishing this or that are by people who are selling a competing this or that. But what I do know is I have never been disappointed by paying a bit extra for 'top name brand' products like Enya, O.S., JR, or Futaba. For what it's worth, as a beginner to turbines, It's reassuring to know that if something goes wrong I can contact someone like Sara Parish for help. Yes I bought a Wren, no I'm not a distributor! - John.

I fly at the same club as some of the Model Engines guys and they say they have the turbines in stock. Don't know where you guys are getting you info from.
