Nick, sir have you beeen able to make contact?

I have been watching a P-80 on that auction site, it sold for 1750.00, I did not delete the watch now it has been "RELISTED" # 6024559493 I will have to look up original # if someone inquires for it. location is Jacarta Indonesia

Additional lack of information: I sent message to one of e-sanders previous auction winners here in the USA so far I have had no reply. Well the buyer could be out of town, very busy, has a broken computer, has the bird flu, Or is a phoney buyer to make positive feedback

This guy is back. He also listed at least two engines on ebay. Moderator, is this for real or not? Has anyone received an engine, or got burned? Thanks. Bob

Sounds too good to be true. Price is TOO low and shipping is RIDICULOUSLY low.

I sent an email to e-sander on ebay, and he said he was NOT the guy selling them on RCU.
E-sander, as doubtful as western unioning money to Indonesia is, has MANY feedbacks from happy people who did just that...and for many items a LOT more expensive than turbines. He has ZERO negs from people who did not get their stuff.

Interesting isn't it. I would love to buy one for the asking price, but figure I would never see it. Thanks ET. Bob

It IS interesting, isin't it? Got a feedback from a guy in Australia for a P-80 last week, no less.
I'm not vouching for anybody, I don't know the guy(or the guy selling them here) and were it not for the ebay feedback, I would CERTAINLY tell people to run away! Indonesia? Scam central.
Also, a Spanish Jetcat distributor was selling P80s for $2050, that's not a lot of money more, and no worries about not getting it. Hmmm...

Just to give you guys an update. Yesterday I offered him his asking price and within an hour he tried to call! He sent me a pm and said nobody answered the phone. Ok, that was a surprise.. I then ask for a serial # and he asks how does he find it. First red flag, somebody already asked him for a number that he later gave. Sounds like the I am selling these for real cheap because I don't know anything about them scam. He then sent a picture of the serial number 1702. I have not checked it out yet.
He then sent me all the bank details and a hard address . Next red flag, He also told me he had more then 5 units if I was interested. My last email suggested using an escrow service for my peace of mind and that was 24 hours ago with no reply.
The next red flag I see is another poster said somebody is selling P-80's on Ebay, but they were not selling on RCU. (Wow ,where are all the P-80's coming from) I find it strange that they both use the statement these are new and not demo engines. This is not a common statement we normally use. I hope I'm wrong but.......

This guy here on RCU, I have no idea what the scoop is. But e-sander, the guy on ebay, said very clearly this was NOT him over here on RCU.

e-sander, electric sander? I just got a response for an IMAC plane I have for sale or trade with the old bogus too big check scam. The guy's name is James West! Anyway, I think 1702 was the serial number this guy gave me when he had the last post with this deal. I called jetcat and you can see the answer I got from them earlier in this post. Bob

I guess we could all bid it up to a million dollars and watch the guy get hit with the fees associated with that

I think he is the same guy.

Same selling price
Same shipping cost
Same picture
Same wording
Same run-around
Same country

Too many "Sames" to not be him!

Except e-sander has straight-up feedback for selling hundreds of items, many of which are much more expensive than engines. And he says this is not him. I don't know the guy, I don't vouch for him, but some of you may be jumping to conclusions.

That's not a very thoughtful conclusion. Scammers usually copy some other legitimate seller's ad.

Be careful, you might be jumping to conclusions.

I was a few hours from sending a M.O. to a person in Amsterdam for 4900.00 for a Quad. I even spoke to him on the phone and he had a 99% positive feedback rating. It turned out to be a scam. Something just did not seem right with it. The price was too low to start with. I reported to Ebay that something was not right and in a few hours the add was gone and Ebay sent me an Email saying it was a fraud.

Remember, this guy had good feedback too. I assume he had somehow managed to fake the feedback from somebody else( he had 40 ratings). Why would a person sell a brand new P-80 for so cheap anyway? Your Ebay guy may be legit, but I don't think the RCU guy is.

I agree on all counts. You need to read ebay feedback carefully, and interpret it. In this case, the guy HAS shipped P-80s to happy customers. Where do they come from? Dunno. Indonesian pirates, maybe? $1750? Sure, why not? The spanish distributor is selling them for $2000. Don't know what the profit margin is on a P-80, but why bother selling a $2000 product if you are not making at least $250? Hopefully, much more!

You know as much as I do about this guy...actually guys. My take is the guy on RCU is NOT the same as the guy on ebay, and that the guy on ebay is probably legit and the guy on RCU PROBABLY not.

What you are talking about is probably an account takeover. They find out the password to a legitimate seller's ebay ID, they take it over and use it to sell high-priced items. If someone has 40 feedbacks for selling barbie dolls, then is selling a Beemer, you should look carefully! E-sander is not that.

Did you win the P-80 on Ebay? I thought I saw you bidding on it. Keep us posted on what happens if you did.

Nope. The reserve must have been $1750. Frankly...to save $250, it's not worth it to me, being that a Spanish distributor is selling them for just over $2000, and that will be fully warrenteed from an authorized dealer and all that. If the price was HALF, that would be one thing, but to save $250? Well...you pays your money and you takes your chances!

It was posted earlier in this thread by someone else. You know as much as I know, never dealt with jetcat spain myself. Seems like an awfully good deal!
