P-80's in engine for sale section.
A gentleman from Indonesia has 4 P-80's, new in the box for $1750 each, a heck of a buy. Problem is, are they for real? Has anyone else had contact on these items? I made a full price offer if he would ship cod. No luck. So I asked for all 4 serial numbers. Any other info, or is this a scam? Thanks. Bob

I would be very wary seeing how he only wants wire transfer and refuses Paypal.
I like Paypal just because it protects both sides. If you get screwed you can get your money back.

In a round about way I got burned by a seller from Indonesia....He may very well have at least one turbine in his hands that he bought----With a fraudulent credit card!!! By the time the card is exposed to be bogus the turbine manufacturer has already shipped the turbine to the guy from Indonesia. The guy in Indonesia sells the turbine quickly before the fraud is discovered. Then, the guy that bought the first turbine tells everyone what a good deal he got and says that the seller is on the up-and-up...The next three guys that send this guy money thinking that they are dealing with an OK seller get SCREWED!!!
Run---Don't walk---run away from this deal.....At least I got a turbine in my deal and I'm protected by "Innocent Purchaser" laws here in the US.....

Just for the fun, ask him to give you the serial numbers on all 4 engines. Then give JetCat a call and check if they even exist, who's bought them in the first place and if they got frauded on the CC payment.
I doubt he has any serial numbers to give you....

Saw the ad. He says the serial number on one engine is #1710. Check it up!

No need to go to Indonesia for a P80... You can buy it in Europe at 1699E, full warranty from a jetcat dealer.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We are checking into this and I will have the marketplace moderators update us with his findings. We might even suspend his account unstill we could verify the authenticity of his ad.

I called Jetcat USA. They did not sell the engine, but that is a good serial number. No luck on getting the other 3 serial numbers. Jetcat was up to 1676 or so in August, so they doubt if this one was sold in July, but it is possible. Looks like a bad deal.

Meanwhile guys, please be very cautious as RCU would not be responsible if you get taken. You can reply to him or make offers to guarantee your place with the transaction but please wait until we finish the investigation before making any monetary transaction..

These also have appeared on the other big auction site for 1800.00 I contacted an individual here in the states that won the auction and he says that he received it and there was no problems? who knows????

the seller might be honest in this dealing. but something seems "fishy". I can be wrong, but it's a gut feeling. so maybe he does have them, but whats to keep him from shipping them once he gets your money?

How about escrow? RCU has a partnership with Escrow.com

well the seller JUST joined RCU, yes he did provide pictures as requested because he was "suspended". Looks to me he really does have 2 jecats in his hand. But where did they come from??? And who really is the rightfull owner. My passport has expired so I cant go oveer there and look.
