Default Need ideas on wing servo plug-ins.......

I have the BVM EZ airs for the retracts, I want to make the aileron servo leads plug in also... I know I can probably just use a male and female servo end, but would prefer something more robust.... and locally attainable

How do you guys do it????

Thanks, Mike

Deans 4 pin connectors. run the red and black/brown to both servos (Ail/Flap) and use the other two for the signal wires to bothe servos. hard mount the one in the fusealage.

Hi Mike

The glider guys have been using the 9 pin D connector(used on computer serial port) for many years as they run up to four servos per wing and their fuselages are very narrow. These plugs are obtainable from any electronics store. I would not be very comfortable if your wing seating is not rock solid though.

Regards

Zane

Here are some photos of how I did this on my Super Bandit.
Mount the "pin" side of the Sub D connector in the wing and the socket in the fuselage. No "hot" pins on the fuselage that way in case the switch is "on".
Costs about $10.00 per airplane.
after making the fuselage mounting plate, assemble the connectors and mount the wing panels, then glue the plate to the fuselage just like you did the E-Z Air set-up.

Thanks Harley, I saw you post that pic on another thread... the glue is drying on the second one as I type Looks really clean... I only have one servo in each wing, but this has got to be slick when you have multple servos, really makes things nice.

Only regret is that I should have done the EZ air and the 9 pin connector on one piece of wood for mounting inside the fuse...woulda been easier.... but still worked out well.

Thanks guys!

Mike

Ashlok connectors!
Take a look:

They are locking as well, so they will never come off.

That is what I use on my L39. The plug/socket is not mounted but just tucked inside the wing. I used a tie wrap through the holes at the end to hold the two halves together. There is no way that it is going to come apart

On my Roo I use these>>>
