Boy I'll be glad when our ACE reporter Bryce gets there so we can get some good pics of the pits and vendors and some of the guys and gals there. We all know the planes, but we want the inside scoop and behind the scene stuff.
Sorry I can't make it this year, too many irons in the fire to pull out.
Fly one for me, I will be watching and crying. [&o]

Oh. I thought it was a whole new product release, with VioLipos and a VioESC and VioBrushless, a whole integrated system, with a new airframe and such.
An electrified Viper is cool, but, hey, someone's been there, done that!
Love to see more, if anybody has any more info.

When it is actually released for sale I wouldn't be surprised if it was every item needed to fly, they're just not quite to that point yet[8D] I'm jealous of their Viper - it's got the plug in wings and hatch giving access to the nose area I think, plus a somwhat larger wing. One of the advantages of having a selection of production molds to choose from and a trained CAD operator to drive a laser cutter

At any rate, I would love to see an integrated Purple Viosolution to high-powered EDF, I guess they are not really there yet.

As for the general rule of no flying below 25' here's my b*tch, someone needs to explain that to the BVM guys!! They were doing 200mph+ passes down the center of the runway less than 10' on more than one occasion, which frankly scared the hell out of me! I don't care how good of a pilot you are, radios lock out, and at that speed and altitude any problem results in mass mayhem & probably death for anyone within riccochet distance!!

Florida Jets is probably the equivalent in model jet flying to the Farnborough or Paris air shows, it showcases the industry and is a public event. At Farnborough and Paris there is a Flying Committee, composed of distinguished test and display pilots who monitor the flying of ALL pilots and teams at their shows to ensure that the flying complies with the laid down safety standards, which apply to EVERYONE. They impose the rules to ALL participants fairly and impartially, without fear or favour. Miscreants are warned of transgressions, which are very few and they are almost all errors of judgement rather than deliberate breaches, a second strike and they are out of the show.
Is there such a system at Florida jets and if not, should it be considered for future FJs and similar events BEFORE there is a major accident.
Of course you could dismiss the professional approach as a waste of time or inoperable and just wait till something happens ! And no I am not hiding behind a pseudonym or internet anonymity and would argue the case for a flying committee system in ANY forum, in person or internet, a big accident in jet flying could affect us all to a greater or lesser degree.

David,
The Kingcat was landing........poorly. Actually there were heavy crosswinds and he did manage to pull it out without too much damage. I will post more pics tonight as soon as my slooow(PII 266) laptop dowloads them from the memory cards. Here's a few from yesterday.

David,
IMO there is no system like you mention at Florida Jets, and at the same time you have people register AFTER the morning briefing (if there still is one) so they are not aware of the rules set out. It also appears FJs gets bigger by the year with no limit in how many people can register, 2years ago I was waiting 40+ mins to get a flight in over the weekend and because i was rushed into takingoff my jet ran off the runway, I can think its either the same or worse, and for that reason for now i will go to FJs to watch rather than fly.
