BVM aeropoxy is not epoxy with micro balloons mixed in! It's Hysol 9462. You can get it in the uk. Just do a search on google.

I think the product rsjets is looking for the the bright white stuff that Comp Arf use. Its got a texture to it and is certainly applied with some sort of a gun. Haven't got a clue what its called though... Any ideas??

It's epoxy and microballoons. Not applied with a gun, it is smoothed out with a finger from the looks of it.

In my opinion, microballoons lessens the strength of epoxy. Thus, I do not like the system they are using, but it is "cheap". I'd pay an extra 20 bucks per airplane to get real aeropoxy, but so far, that is not an option.

hi jason hysol 9462 is a epoxy based product if you do your home work you will find that it is just simply epoxy and micro balloons mixed together just because a certain model manufacturer label it as areopoxy does not mean it is some thing special and the gun you need is a rs products model number is 503-379 that is if you are going to get the cartridges if not just mix epoxy with micro balloons and you will have the same thing and i would use wing skinning epoxy as it gives you more time and pipe it out off a plastic bag just cut the corner off it and pipe it out regards jetman

Jetman, Hysol 9462 is not epoxy and microballoons. You tell someone to do their homework?

Buddy, you need to change schools. Aeropoxy and 9462 are the same, and neither of them have anything to do with microballoons.

I look forward to the results of your efforts to proving me wrong.

Dude, you don't need to know what is in 9462, all you need to know is that it is the last thixotropic epoxy system you will ever need.

Epoxy and microballoons has its place in this hobby. In my opinion, that place is not on formers or anything structural. While I do have several airplanes that have epoxy microballons in structural areas, in some cases I actually go back and put a dab of aeropoxy on them and smooth it out with my finger for some peace of mind.

There are some areas in todays arfs that I can't reach to do that, and I just live with it.

Hopefully, those areas will not fail. I do loose some sleep over it though cause epoxy microbaloons is a filler, not a great strength gain. (it is light though).

It's not my job to educate you. Hysol has a website that specs out what is in their epoxy. None of which are microballons or collodial silica.
