From: Mexifornia,
Some very nice flying by Duky Fresh, he and the A-4 did a great job on a 100 degree day and a nice little crosswind. You the man Duk Duk, I know that baby is in good hands.
Enjoy

I regularly get questions about flying off grass with our planes, but since we only fly off hard surfaces I cannot give you any solid answers and I refuse to reccomend anything that we have not already tested. I would not hesitate to fly any of our aircraft on a grass runway, but until the time comes when I have done it I will not tell you "it will fy off grass". I can tell you that our landing gear systems and aircraft are strong enough to take the abuse of the extra resistance a grass runway will give.
The A-4 is a much faster airframe then the T-45, and a P-70 would fly either of these jets faster then most. We have flown both planes with JetCat P-60's and any others that we build will have the same power plant. I know of a few customers that will be installing P-70's in their A-4's, and that is totally in the reccomended specifications of this plane. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks Dave, I am now leaning towards the A-4, I want a fast jet and like the lines of the A-4. What is included in the optional Turbine installation kit? Its hard to judge its size on the video. I just recently saw a skymaster Hawk in person , how does it compare in size. Thanks ,Jack

the dimentions of the A-4 are on the website and video, you can compare that to the dimentions of the hawk to get an idea. The contents of the turbine installation package are also on the website, Click the link at that I posted for the video, and scroll down.

Dave,
Between the F-16, A-4 and the T-45 with P-60 power which is faster, easiest to land, all around best flier.
Thanks
Marvin

A-4 definitely the fastest of the three with P-60 Power. A little more agile with the delta wing and small tail, and the new airfoil we used has proved to be much more stable at high angle of attack. This along with mixing crow in the landing configuration has made a substantial impact on the slow flight of this plane. That being said, I still would not classify this model as a trainer of any sort. An experienced jet modeler can adapt in a flight or two, but still may be a little zippy for the beginner to successfully earn his/her waiver on. Definitely my choice as favorite P-60 powered jet hands down, I have always loved the look of the A-4 and with the way this one fly’s its sealed its place in my heart.
F-16 probably wins for all around plane, because it has more wing area, gets a little extra lift from the fuse, very easy to fly, very stable in high alpha and will literally stand on its tail and hover with a slight headwind. This plane is a complete redesign from the balsa version, and has also adapted a new airfoil that allows it to fly much faster while still maintaining very stable slow flight. The scale detail is a major “WOW” factor, and the gear door option just puts the icing on the cake. The landing gear design and placement also eliminates any of the poor handling characteristics that usually follow narrow gear aircraft. This along with being very sturdy, and easy access to the gear mounts in the fuselage make it much more serviceable if by chance there happens to be a bad landing. The landing gear has been Tam tested this weekend, and has made it through with flying colors.
The T-45 I would classify as a basic trainer. The only thing easier to fly then this jet is a Boomerang, or possibly Ali’s Cougar. It has a sport plane style wing, large flaps, and with its size flew amazingly well on a P-60.
Hope this answers your question Marvin please let me know if I missed anything.
Take care,
Dave

Dave,
Thanks for answering Marvin's question so throughly and professionally. It's a pleasure to associate and fly with the Tam group; but most importantly, count on your no BS approach to this wonderful thing we call Jet Flight.
