Hey Mikey,
Should be a great time. I am sending out an E-flite Airliner so we can do some serious jet flying.

Ya'll be carefull now. Perhaps someone should warn the locals to make sure there are no tables or trailers anywhere near the flightline!!!!!!!

Started to put up some of the sponsor signs on the other side of the runway. Skies were overcast for most of the morning, then I had to go to work and it appeared the sun came out.. At least I only have to work half shifts for the 16th and 17th then its a 3 day weekend!
I'll shoot more pictures and upload them when I can.

OK - Here are some more pictures.
BTW, thanks to Randy for cooking up some brisket and beans.
Just some general shots to start off with. First off, our CD's dog, the Amazing Rocket (aka Rocky). Then John Redman helping Mike Z with his ductfan model. Then John decides to play with James Love's Bobcat. Finally, Les Morrow's Rookie2 take-offs for another flight around the the field.

John and Les go chasing each other around in the clouds. Flight had to be cut short due to a dust front that came out of a thunderstorm to the south of Reese. Everyone had to start packing things away, securing the ropes, etc for when the dust front hit. It blew out after about 30 minutes or so. Then it was a very pleasant evening.
BTW. Something was missing from the back of John's shirt, so I did a little photoshop to it. Second photo shows Les' Rookie landing. Third and Fourth photos show Les and John in the air together. Just lucky enough to snap the picture at the right time to get both planes in the camera viewfinder.

Well, after the dust front hit, all the hatches were batten down and most of us retreated to Randy's RV for some good old BSing and eating. When the front had past (and stop rocking that RV like a ship at sea. ), Randy had this electric GWS TigerMoth he had just built before coming to Lubbock and let John Redman fly it around in the evening twilight. I took a lot more pictures of this than what I am posting here mainly due to the fact that these are the LEAST blurred or out of focus pictures that I took. Seems like I hit the wrong focus function on my digital camera and a lot of these pictures just did not come out too great. These are the best of the survivors that I did not dump in the trash.
One more half day of work (sorry for using such language around here...) then its the start of a 3 day weekend of jet flying and helping out at the Jet Fest. More pictures to come tomorrow night.

This is just too good to pass up...
Our local newschannerl (Channel 13) had a news crew out at Reese today and took some great video. But they must be vey bad note takers. You had to have watch the news report tonight to understand what happened. The ONLY name that they got right, get this: WAS THE DOG's!
Ok, picture this.
(Que soap opera music. Narriator's voice says the following )
The character of John Redman will be played by Dr. Mike Danchak. The character of Les Morrow will be played by Mr. John Redman. The character of Dr. Mike Danchak will be played by Mr. Les Morrow. And finally, the character of Dr. Mike's dog Rocket will be played by: Rocket!"
Here are some of the planes lined up for the cameras.

And now for a product demostration by the event's namesake - JR/Horizon Hobbies. In this case, its the new E-flight Airliner kit that wowed those who were still out on the flightline at dusk. John Redman was not a happy camper when the original model was shipped in a different box than what it was supposed to have been shipped in. The result wasn't pretty when the box was opened. However, a local hobby shop happened to have one in stock and with a quick purchase and a overnight building session, the model was ready to go for its maiden flight.
Most of these images I had to lighten up some just so you can see it. Impressive in the air with John turning and burning the model the way a real airline would get sued if it flew in the same manner.
Enjoy...

Dr. Bryan S. McLarty(DDS,PA), Les Morrow, and John Redman were 'convinced' to appear on a local morning radio talk show (KRFE AM 580) at seven am. At noon, the radio station which is one of the sponsors of this years event will do a nootime live braodcast from Reese.
It went very well. Still can't beat what Channel 13 did last night. Again, I will post more pictures tonight.

All right sports fans. Another day of great flying at the JR Jet Fest 2006. Hotter than it was yesterday. Had a dust devil blew thru the pit area early in the afternoon wiping out the canopy the Kitchen Crew was using. Going to have to get a replacement for tomorrow. A few landings that could have been better were witness by all.
Now for todays pictures. This plane had a air leak somewhere, so that is why it is making a nose wheel up landing.
