Confirmed! Airworld was at the JR Fest this year with several airplanes. Jason flew the Mig-21 a couple of times. And from the Awards Banquet, even though Jason wasn't there, he won Best of Show which was sponsored by TamJets and Airworld USA.
Had a hot, but good day today. I'll post more award winners later. If I remember correctly, we had 33 pilots sign in by the end of Saturday's flying.
I helped out in the radio impound this year like I always do, but not as much as in the past. I escorted several news photographers around yesterday and today making sure they were safe and that they didn't step on any airplanes. Even took a turn on the microphone doing announcer duties.
People's Choice Award went to Joey's F-4 Playboy Bunny which had the bad luck of doing a deadstick downwind and crashed. Looked very bad at first. Found out later that it was repairable. It will fly again sometime in the future!

There were only a few folks left this morning. I guess they didn't want to be caught up (ie Drafted) into doing the clean up of this event. Tear down is always faster than set up. A universal maxium.
Well, here are some more pictures from the 19th for your viewing pleasure.

Everybody,
We had a great time at the JR Jetfest this year. John Redman was his usual self - entertaining the crowd, and we had a lot of hot flying. The weather was pretty cooperative for the most part, and the food was super. I'd like to thank all our sponsors: JR, Airworld, Tamjets, JetCat, BVM, Wings and Things, and WINGS Miniature Acft Society. Other sponsors that contributed were: Honda of Lubbock, Mears Mazda, and Dr. Bryan McLarty DDS.
If you guys missed it this year, you really missed a great time -- especially the awards banquet -- real Texas BBQ with all the trimmings, and plenty of it. If anyone went away hungry, it was nobody's fault but their own. We had a DJ with dance music, beer, and BYOB -- GREAT TIME!!!! Hope you guys will mark your calendar for next year -- it will be even bigger and better for sure!!!
Thanks to all the pilots and crews who made the event this year. Hope everyone had a great time, and we'll see you next year about the same time!! Watch our website for more details: www.WINGSmas.com

I like to say on behalf of the Airworld-USA Team, thanks to John Redman, Mike Danchak, Les Morrow for putting on a great event, one of the best if not the best place to fly. We had a great time, I am sure Airworld-USA will be back next year. Joe Castelao

John Redman is, one of the best - if not the best - ambassadors for our segment of the sport. He always enjoys himself; always helps a lot of folks (me included), and he had a great time with the crowd too - just ask the kids! We'll be back.
