Tommy really sorry to hear about the loss. I know you'll build another...I will. Mine is done up in Ted Williams VMF-311 scheme. I have 30+ flights on her so far...5 on the PST600R and the rest on Artes Falcon detuned to 18 lbs of thrust thru the PST pipe. I added a stainless heat shield around tailcone to solve the Falcon's radiated heat problem. Added speed brakes but no body flaps....definately not needed as she slows down great with gear and flaps. Concur with Dean's flight guide. In 10+mph winds I use takeoff flap setting for landing and don't need wheel brakes to stop. A note of caution: with full flaps and speed brake this bird will almost stop in mid-air!!!! Incredible flying bird. Here's some pics.

I will testify to Dean's post. my new Panther arrived last week. It is considerably lighter than my early production model, which I purchased primed directly from the factory. The detail however remains top notch. The CG as Dean pointed out is correct, at 3.75 inches rear of the LE at the wing root, she is very stable and rotates very easily with 10-15 degrees of flap. The plane is stable in flight. In retrospect my plane was lost to failure to keep the throttle up in a tailwind situation. There was a pretty significant tailwind and I slowed her way down, simply because I was way to confident due to the fact that the first flight had really been a none event up to that point. The fact that I immediately rushed out and purchased another one shows how happy I was with the airframe. I plan on making some of the changes to it that Dean and Terry have shown here on the website the past few weeks.

Now, only thing I missed are the instructions for the hyd. brake sys. Will need some help in this. I never use this type of brakes before. Don't know what type of oil it use and what is the proper procedure to fill and bleed. Any help? Thanks in advice.

Did you get the zip file I sent you? I didn't get it back, like I did the first one.

You guys can thank Kravuith for the gear instructions. He sent me another CD, but it didn't have the gear instructions on it either, so I "Bugged" him and he e-mailed the word doc.

Hi Terry and All!

Just got back from Princeton Jets and had a great time! Flew the Panther a lot ! This airplane is outstanding from take off to landing! I am currently in the process of taking tons of close up pictures of the demo bird to put on our website. I do have the " early jet " Blue Box figure in the Panther and he still was able to keep his legs intact! The seat bottom needed to be cut out a little to make him sit better in the tub though!

Dean,

Will a P-60 fly the Panther or is it marginal?
