2007 Jet World Masters
I see that thirty one countries had submitted entries by the 30th November closing date.
There is no entry from England, which I find odd. They usually field a strong team. Also Ali who flies for Iran is missing.
Anyone have any info?
Regards
Jim

March 2007 sounds quite late to have a team selection for England but I suppose they know their own business best. You will be pleased to hear that Scotland will field a full team of six entrants as this represents the easiest access for the JWM, we Scots only being a short ferry ride away.
Is Cyprus entering a team?

All:
Having just got a few PM's and Emails on this issue in the past 30 mins. I just have to state that I have NOTHING to do with the organising of the JWM 2007 event. . . . . . . NONE at all, . . . . I just happen to live on the same bit of green stuff.
I sent you all replies.

John. Yes, Cyprus has entered the competition. We have one pilot entered ( not me).
He is fairly new, but keen. He's also not short of a bob or two. He bought Stefan Volkers 2003 winning L39. I am not sure at this time which jet he is going to fly.
I hope the weather will be kind.

Yes John, But they will have at the end of 3 team trial dates, a very strong and competative team based on some experienced flyers wich is what it is all about in order to give the rest of the big boys a run for their money. Afteral, it is about selecting the best for the jwm and having seen who is doing this, the team will be the best that England has produced todate.
So what you flying for the event John?

I will be flying an Aermacchi MB 339 which will be the composite Skymasters version with added detail, Merlin 160 Mk 11 for power and UAE colour scheme.

I am sure England will have a very strong team. As usual my money will be on Germany with England , USA and Switzerland battling for second and third places! I am very happy just to be going with no illusions about placing. I look forward to meeting all the guys who contribute on a regular basis to RCU.

Correction Jim,
Cyprus is entering with TWO L39's, they are both made in Italy (the second one is identical to the first and on its way to Cyprus as we write this) and TWO pilots, Paris and Mario. They are both entering the Open scale discipline and already are practicing their maneuvers.

Cupla things.
Michael, you didn't answer your Top Gun invitation so I assumed you were retired.
Perhaps you'll join us some other time.
Even though it's water over the spillway, it's too bad that the USA didn't have the luxury of qualifying later so that
our boys would have had more time to prepare and perhaps we would have had a larger field as well.
