Alan,

Do NOT expect any vertical maneuvers with this jet. It is a great, stable flier but the best you could expect would be a split S following a high speed dive.

Thanks for the info............are you able to post pics of your engine/fan/pipe installation ?...........I have a Rossi 105 and Byrofan but need to find a tuned pipe (with the return exhaust back thru the fan).

Also, what servos are required and is your F18 set up with gear doors and speed brake etc.....

mine also has the old Bryn retracts with the straight main oleos...very narrow track ...are there more scale trailing arm type mains available ??

cheers

Alan

If you manage to meet Tam at Florida jets (which you will probably do) could you find out for me if they have a pilot that would fit in the model. He would also be your guy for all the info you need on modifying the hornet to turbine i am sure he would be able to help you out the best.
Let me know how much he wants for the byfur pipe and kevlar tanks.

best wishes
zain

Alan,

I have an OS carb adaptor for a Rossi 91. Came out of my Byron F15 with 2 Rossie 91s. I found the Rossis to be a little more powerful, but tempermental with the original carb. So, I machined up 2 adaptors to put the OS 91 carbs on. That really worked great... Also, a Rossi can take a lean run better than an OS I have been told.......

F 15 : Then one of the fans came loose and one engine blew up in flight from excessive RPM. So, am now am converting the F 15 to Turbine [big project]. I have the Byron DF leftovers from the plane. That is why I can let you have one of the adaptors. Or, a complete Rossi 91 / fan / pipe setup with a few flights.

IF it is the same monuting as a 105, you are welcome to it... ( well you experts ? ) That is also assumming UPS will ship to your location from the states? And of course you get to pay..lol

hi, i`m planning the same thing, any advice on conversion measures to use, is the basic fuselage strong enough? bearings for the tail surfaces? mine also came with an undercarriage from rc crafters but it seems too big for the byron fuselage? any ideas?
