All,
I Picked up my Fox Composites F86 Sabre from Motors & Rotors today. Not much time to look at the kit properly or take a complete set of pics but here is a little taster. I will take more pics and post them with information as soon as I get the chance but am busy getting models ready for Classic jets tomorow. If I can fit the kit in the car i will take it along.

I have spoken to Jims man in the UK and am pleased to say that the wing and fuselage bags are standard which I think is a realy nice touch. The Hawk also come with bags, how good is that

I'm interested in something different from the L39, although its a cracker, but can you guys say what the take-off length is required using the latest Mw44 gold for the F86 and the hawk? (- perhaps i should duplicate the question in the hawk thread)
Are we talking the same as the L39's ? I'm so limited withonly a 50m grass strip, and simply can't afford to make the wrong decision, both in plane type and flying!!
The bags are a nice touch.
Thanks
James.

I would say that both of them with flap and built light would be fine with a Gold 44.
My Hawk had no problems at the local grass strip.
The Sabre has a lighter wing loading and glides really well so although i have only seen it on Tarmac i would say it would be no problem..

With only 50m I think you would struggle with both aeroplanes getting them slow enough. The Savex L-39 is the only scale model I can think of the is light enough and has enough flap/drag.

Dave,
Thanks for your honest opinion, I've always thought takeoff length was the main restriction, never thought about slowing them up, I suppose i've been spoilt by using the L39, and it seems another one is in order.
Not a bad thing really, but they say variety is the spice of life, guess i'll have to settle for a different colour scheme again!
Keep the pics coming on the F86 build please Trevor, always interesting.

James,
I plan to start on it sometime this week only Dave has a model in he queue and that must be done first. I am told the F86 has a very good glide but of couse that doesn`t mean it will slow up and I would be surprised if it gets down to L39 territory.

Personally I still think both would be OK.
The Hawk with the 44 Gold and 'sport wing' will slow up much more than with the current wing.
The Sabre with the Wren 44 in slows to walking pace on landing with almost no wind. I was with Steve when he flew his at Wroughton.
50 meters is 162 ft, more than enough in my honest opinion.
