I went through a Supermarket doing that and got wonderful service at the till, they thought I was Customs and Excise.
The one I found was a Lenor Washing softner that fitted perfectly, 2L and just a small amount of heating to get it over the main wing tube.

Hello guys!
I haven't posted in a while but its because I've been very busy.
The plane is about 99% done...only a few tweaks of the programing on the radio and some re-programing of the turbine ECU (it was not starting right on the airframe) and I will be ready for the maiden.
Here are some pics of the progress...(and one of the pilot...lol)
thanks to all that provided tips and help.
Best regards,
Chris

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet
My tank setup
Basic tank (1.9L juice bottle)
5 minutes on a lathe and I have the required parts. The inner diameter is threaded 1/8npt in order to accept the 6mm Festo fittings. Outside is threaded M16 for the nut. The rubber is from a stopper I had lying around.
Assembled. I also made a pickup from a coupler and an airtool filter.
Tank fully stopped
Tightening the nut compresses the rubber and locks it in place. No more leaks anywhere!

Hi guys
Quick question
How easy does the falcon 120 fly compared to a boomerang nano?
Is it as easy or easier?
Cheers

A cable tie shrink wrapped to the wires bent in a curve at the servo end will keep the wires apart when the UC retracts, just make sure the cable tie is clear of the retracted leg.

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet
Hello,
I just leave them be. When the gear retracts the cables get slack but its not enough for it to get caught on anything. I drilled up at an angle right through the wood formers/gear mounts from where the cables should be when the gear is retracted towards the position of the servo and I haven't had any issues. I will see if I can snap some pics tonight.
Also, IT FLEW!!!!
I put in my first two flights on Sunday at an awesome location. I will add pics and video soon. I can't believe how uneventful that was and how nice this plane flies and lands.
Thanks to all for all the help and tips.
Best regards,
Chris

Well, it looks like the Falcon has turned out to be a good daily flyer and a great first turbine jet as I have been following this thread since it first started. There were many who said it would never work but reviewing the forum it appears many have had great success. I will probably start a Falcon Project over the winter and I am looking for your advice minus 145 pages of this and that. My questions are as follows: Keep in mind I plan on using the Kingtech k-80
*Please give me 5-10 modifications that need to be done to the Falcon to make it a safe turbine flyer.
*What retracts/landing gear have been sucessfull? Would these work?
http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=7998&Product_Name=Air_Operated_Retract_Kit___w/spring_2-WayValve_(model:2204)
*Any links to good fuel tanks that fit in the Falcon?
*One or two servos for the elevator?
*How is the durability of the Falcon as a turbine jet?
Any help or advice on the Falcon would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!!!

If as you say you have been following this thread since it started you have all the answers already, why do you need us to tell you?

this same question was answered a few pages ago, just have a look back and see.

I don't think there has been many, if any who have tried these retracts. trust me, i spent a lot of time trying to find a cost effective solution to the landing gear issues, and seeing as your going to need brakes, have a look at the all included dreamworks/digitech options. they sound like a lot to start out with, but you'll end up having to spend close to that anyway if you buy from different sources and the shipping will make up the difference.

Heaps of discussions throughout the whole thread regarding tanks. I use a 2.4lt juice bottle, there is a guy here on RCU who makes a custom tank for the falcon120, i guess more reading for you...
*One or two servos for the elevator?
I used one, most of the Falcon120 i saw at a resent jet meet used two, either way both work fine if you set them up right.
*How is the durability of the Falcon as a turbine jet?
how long is a piece of string? there a guys posting that they have had in the 100's of flights with theirs, and others that only got a few[], it always depends on your piloting skills, redundancy of your setup etc....
Any help or advice on the Falcon would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!!!

Ticketec,
Thank you for the useful info. I was trying to get a better idea of what really is needed and what is not. There is so much info in this forum it's difficult to see what is necessary.
I think my biggest concern is the durability without re-building the whole airframe. After all people buy the Falcon because it is cheap and they are trying to get into jets.
Thanks Again,

Yeah no probs,
I did exactly the same thing. I sat myself down for 2 days to read the whole thread and with all the info in here you sometimes forget what you were looking for.
I used about 3/4oz of Zap into each wing panel onto all the joints i could reach. i would recommend you do this after cutting the aileron and flap servo covering off so you can get right out to the tips with the CA.
Thanks

How do you get it in? Does it go in through the cockpit or did you cut an enlarged opening in the fuselage bottom for access?
How did you go about it? Did you make a plug and mould it in two parts, then join? Where did you get the fittings?
I was thinking maybe a blue foam plug, covered with cling film or polythene, mould a front half, mould a back half and glass together. I am aiming for 2 litres.
I have never done it so I don't know the pitfalls. Any advice?

A 2L Lenor fabric conditioner bottle fits over the wing tube with a bit of heat applied, force it into position and then just blow your heat gun gentle down the bottle opening it forms itself into a perfect shape, I had a pic somewhere I will see if I can dig it out.

Anyone know where you can get a canopy for one of these in UK, tried colchester out of stock and CCRC models recon they have a hard enough job getting the kits!

How do you guys go about checking the C/G on the model? I have checked mine and I think it's about 12 1/2 inches from the wing LE.
