The Bobcat's design was initially claimed to make FOD screens unnecessary, but that proved inaccurate (I know, since I Fodded my P120 in it years ago).

I haven't specifically tried the Tamjets FOD screen with a P70, but I do know that when I looked around at the time, none the commercially available FOD screens would fit with a P120 due to the way the CF deflection plates are positioned on the Bobcat. I had to use a home-made design that has concave sides on the strainer rather than convex.

Since the P70 is smaller, it may sit high enough that it can clear the deflector plates.

I am running a Tam's P-60 screen on my 70 and it is perfect. I had the problem in my A-4 where the ring of the P-70 would extend past the outside of the turbine case. With the P-60 screen the edge of the ring sits perfectly flush with the outer case of the P-70. Tam, you should just start notching the P-60 screens and call them the P-70 screens, much better fit.

Not a bad idea. That way kept my workers busy.

If you'd get your site up and running I'd order a couple. Or - you could just send me 2, along with a bill.

Tam when will you have the P60 FOD screen in stock again? It has been showing *** for awhile now "Products marked with *** dont exist in desired quantity in our stock."

I also need a jettronic single electronic brake valve, also out of stock, any idea when this will be in stock again?

Thanks!

FWIW - I used to run a Wren Mk2 with no FOD screen and it ingested something and Wren repaired it and suggested I fit a FOD screen which I did - with no loss of performance.

I now run a Wren Supersport which isnt available without a FOD screen - its built in to the price.

To suggest that all turbine manufacturers dont care is clear evidence to me that the person saying that hasnt done business with Wren.

A more caring company you would look very hard to find.

I have no connection with Wren except as a very satisfied customer - past and present.

He wasnt saying exactly that they don't care it's the fact that they get $800.00 richer off of each repair.
That alone speaks volumes yeah don't run with a fod screen we are happy to assist you says the manufacturer.
It's almost like one of our local mortuaries with billboards around town saying, "Don't drink and Drive We'd rather wait"
bottom line they know you are coming it's just a matter of how fast you get there...

hello i just got my first turbine yesturday. p70 in a boomer sprint. mine is also this way. it has chips on the fan. the engine runs perfect though.. no balance problems nothing. i contacte my friend who sold it to me because i didnt notice it until yesturday. he said as long as no vibration it will be fine. he told me he knew nothing abou it. he said he just sent the engine and ecu in for the up grade for ecu and engine examined. he said he has flew it many times since then. the day i boufght it we ran it and sounds wonderful. very powerful. and today i ran few more times..i think as long as the other blades are not damaged inside its ok. take an object and carefully spin the fan. it should spin easy and smooth. let me know. wierd though isnt it we both have this..

I'm just putting together a boomer with a P70. I bought it built and unflown and a fod screen came with it and i have to say the screen is crap. It looks very homemade compared to the 'designed for purpose' one on my Wren Supersport. It will do the job but just looks awful

I would replace it with a more attractive fod screen.

The guys at Jetcat don't care if you have one or not, get it! None of the manufactureres do.

But they do sell it.
Wren have the fod screen built into their engines.

Tam's P60 sized FOD screen is also perfect to add a FOD withing a BVM bypass. This is what I use in my Super Bandit / P70. It also fits the JetCentral Rabbit well.
Tam, you should probably document the list of compatible turbines for each of your FODs.

hello all . i contacte jetcat today about the suspicious nicks on the leading edges of the front compression blades. i bought mine usedwith a plane and has been sent in for service the past two years.. mine has 9 hours total time.. the guy told me when they balance the compresser fan they cut nicks on the leading edeges of the front blades . not the trailing blades.. he told me aslong as no vibration and runs good leave IT ALONE. HE SAID IN A VERY SURE WAY. LEAVE IT ALONE IF ITS RUNNING GOOD. HE TOLD ME IT WOULD HAVE LET YOU KNOW REAL QUICK IF IT WAS UNBALANCED.. SOUND WIERD BUT I GOT THIS INFO FROM JETCAT ...HE DID SAY PUT A FOD ON . VERY IMPORTANT FOR YOUR SAFETY AND ENGINE...TAKE CARE GUYS...PAT
