Default DF F-104

I am in the market to build a ICDF F 104 and I have found three kits for sale. They are made by Century, Avons and the JD Enterpeises. My qustions for the ones out there that have gone before me is, which one is best. My concern isnt really price. I am more interested in the ease of building and flying aspects of the plane.

I am leaning toward the Century simply because I have built one in the past and I still have the retacts. I know the building manual stinks (no photos) but the rest was fair to good.

I guess the real question I have is about the Avons and JDE. Does any onle know about these?

Thanks

I have a Avonds 104 with a turbine. Very light weight mouldings. It is difficult to see how it could be made any lighter. Mine weighed in Dry under 15 lbs with a Wren SS.

It flys beautifully under power and even glides well.

The Avonds F104 is the go ............. have one and love it. Building is the usual motto of Philip - "Keep it simple stupid".

Avonds without a doubt. It will climb slowley until it's on the step then accelerate well. Mine did about 140mph on OS/Ramtec. Don't follow the flap procedure in the manual for landing. If you drop the flaps with less than 3/4 throttle in level flight, the thing will drop like a manhole cover.

I will second the comment on the flaps. If I use the manual's flap setting for landing I get violent dutch rolls when it slows down. I land with takes off flap settings.
