Legendary fighter pilot Robin Olds dies, He was My Vietnam Hero. I also Like Richie Cunningham.
I did a Tom Cook, F-4 in his "Voo Doo" colors. It is in the Daton- Wright Museum.

I remember when he flew back seat with Gen. Chappie James. Everyone called them "Black Man and Robin" but I am sure not to eithers face. Both gone now. What a loss. Bob

He was truly one of our greatest aviators. A leader, an example setter, and would attract the best to come forward of his peers. He will truly be missed and not forgotten by virtue of talents. R.I.P. General

I really enjoyed the History Channel documentary (Dogfights) about Robin Olds. Going from P-38 in WWII to F-4 ambush in SEA stuff. I have an F-4 Phantom book that also tells a very detailed blow by blow of the SEA ambush and his leadership style.

As far as Duke Cunningham goes, it's too bad his morality crisis later in life now eclipse his flying prowess of the old days. [] What a waste.

We are losing our old heros pretty quickly these days.
