We fly just about every brand turbine in the Mississippi Gang. Some of us have owned other brands and have done a switch-a-roo just becasue we want a different color.......come to think of it we really need to kick some of those guys out because they did not......heck maybe they need to kick me out because I did!!!! It does not matter what brand turbine you fly as long as you have fun doing it......of course it is a whole lot more fun if your engine runs through the whole flight.

Oh, ith a lady!
Jet Gal,
First, it's nice to see the .05% posting in the jet thread. I'm sure that all don't agree as many in this hobby use it to get away from a lady. But not all. I see many wives and significant others at events supporting their "sig. other" and I think that's awesome. How many guys go to knitting competitions to support their lady. Ouch...that would be unbearable!
Couple of questions...first, in regards to shunned tent space, were you wanting space to "sell something" or trying to find "shelter from the storm"?
If the latter, or if you were truly shunned because of your turbine brand, then I guess you missjudged your "long time buddies". I would like to here an honest response from one of these guys on this.
Keep posting, but please read entire thread beforehand. I fealt sorry you posting through missunderstanding. Much of the stuff in this forum becomes very 'inside' and from a unknowing party, could seem very harsh. But it is mostly egos lookin' for a space to fly.
I can see by the empty bottle of Courvasier that my time us up.

I think Ali Machinechy's flawless flying of Alan Cardash's Boomerang really was one of the new design show stoppers.
Having had the pleasure of hosting a number of the U.K group in our tents, it really was fun to see what goes on elsewhere.
This is the first real trainer I have seen fly. It is a large floater, with the wing based on the Super floater Edge 540 airfoil. I mean one that you can hand to someone who has never flown anything more than a Hobbico trainer and have him doing racetracks, eights and landings at Hobbico speeds in a couple of flights. Fixed gear, cheap wheels like Robarts, with single brake on the wire nose strut. Perfectly stable at 20 MPH airspeed.
On Thursday, Ali was doing takeoffs and landings using no more than 15 feet for takeoff, and 50 feet for landing to a dead stop in a 10 knot breeze. Yet it is capable of doing a complete IMAC Advanced pattern flight, given the right fingers on the box. The hammerheads and rolling circles, both vertical and horizontal were beauties, the snaps sharp, and it even hovers, although torque rolls do require aileron input.
Alan hopes to have someone produce the kit in the near future.

Boomerang
It's turbine. Ali uses a P-120. Wingspan is about 7 1/2 feet.
Built-up wing and balsa fuselage, tailbooms, and fat-flying tail.
Monocote covering. Very simple construction.

I would be interested in getting one of these to share the Roo turbine.
After looking at the website I would get one. Great for the local club fields. Bkf

JetGal Responds
Gee guys, thanks for all the reply's whether positive or negative.
Skypilot: Point taken. I'll read more clearly next time I get on-line @ 1:00 a.m.
bfk: In almost the same breath you welcome me and then later tell me to "get a life". Look, I've got nothin' but love for my fellow brother. I thought you were serious about wanting to know about the L159 landing gear. I was trying to be helpful that's all.
Woketman: In the manufacturing industry, designs that are copied or based on an original concept are sometimes referred to as "knock-offs". Wasn't the KJ-66 originally designed by Jesus Artes of Artes Jets in Spain?
DavidR: "...it does not matter what brand turbine you fly as long as you have fun doing it...". I couldn't say it any better.
lov2flyrc: Thank you. I not only like your objective point of view, but the "chutzpuh" you have, in which you have gone after the Deland R/C Jet Club as well. You have "cajones".
SDCrashmaster: Yes, I misjudged my long time buddies, but despite the fact, I still spoke to them throughout the event, & I don't hold grudges. Although, I was a little disappointed they let this Jewish fella (with a perpetual cigar in his mouth) influence my friends decision to share tent space with them when we arrived on Thursday. And, no, I was not trying to sell anything.
To all, perhaps, I was venting about the AMT reps, but clearly I am in this to support the fun aspect of flying turbine jets. No doubt, the "Reps" are there to support their brand loyalty, I was naive to think my friends would respect my decision to fly whatever I want, I never expected they would decline the $100.00 to share the space with them.

Thanks from England....
We were part of the English contingent over to visit Florida Jets and despite some interesting weather on Friday/Saturday (more akin to at home!) we had a great time.
We were impressed with the hospitality shown by all there at the event, but with special mention to Tom and Jane Antlfinger from Wisconsin. Both were kind enough to allow us to share their tent, both from the hot sun and the pouring rain as well as full use of their equipment to run the jets - which in todays climate is a little difficult to import!
We look forward to meeting up with them again at another US jet meet later in the year.

Alan Cardash's Boomerang
Tom: I have been thinking of Alan Cardash's Boomerang all day. I don't know why but I love that thing. What a great short run field plane.
What do I have to do to get one? Bkf
