Default bad up-3 valve

when testing my valve, air is only coming out of the door open side. The retract air lines work fine, but no matter which way i have the spool air is only coming out door open side. Has anybody had this probem, if so do you know a fix. or am i doing something wrong.

thanks

Take the clip off, pull the ram, clean it off with paper towel, regrease the o rings with parker o lube, put it back to gether and report back here what you find.

Are you testing it with retract and door cylinders hooked to it?

Hi,
Not sure if this is the same problem, but I had air leaking from the valve. There are two very small bolts in the middle of the valve. They are black and look like vent holes. I called and they said that there wasn't enough Locktite on the bolts and that's why air was leaking out through the bolt holes. They said I could remove the bolts, put Locktite on and replace the bolts, or I could send it in and they'd do it. I have some really small allen wrenchs, but not that small, so I put thin CA on the bolts, it seeped in and eliminated the leaks.
BRG,
Jon

yes i have tested it with the lines hooked up. the gear goes up and down. the doors just stay open. when i took off the air lines to the doors that is when i found that air was only coming out of the door open side.

I would also remove the needle valves and make sure that they are clear. I had the exact same problem with one of mine and I kept loosening the needle valve to increase the air flow. Finally, it came loose and a bit of "crud" flew out behind it. From then on, it worked fine...

I have had the exact same problem, and I know of others that have had it also.

Try this - retract the gear, after it is up and out of the way, manually open and close the doors with your hands several times. You are trying to force the internal valve to slide over, and some times moving the air cyclinders on the doors will do it. If the doors do finally close then you are hooked up correctly, but the valve is sticky. If they do not close, well, you still do not know what is up.

On mine I finally went in and reworked the bore for the internal spindel valve. I used a 1 thousandth over straight wall reamer, and opened the bore up, and repolished it. It worked better after that, but I would allways check it before every flight, and normally I would have to manually pump the doors, as described above, at the start of the day.

Steven, your the winner here. It was the inner cylinder that was stuck. I worked the retracts in the up position, and the doors finally closed. works perfect now
