A friend of mine rented a self -storage site. It was about $30 a month and heated. He put a workbench in and had a few power tools. He had to bring in water if he wanted a drink but he could get away for a few hours in a quiet and secure area to build without disruptions from family. Plus there is a lot of room to store other planes there too. Just another idea that might work for someone.

I also will bring long boreing jobs here to work, and try to get some things done.

Currently I build my stuff in the apartment next door . . . . .
But thankfully at the end of October, I am moving into the new workshop . . .
988 sq/ft of space including custom spray-shop and a large store room with all the bits needed to do the job right with full machining facilities.
Can't wait. [8D]

I converted a small spare bedroom to my workshop. Since the carpet needs replacing, my wife doesn't mind too much when I drip glue on it... [sm=wink_smile.gif]

It's amazing what you can build in a limited space if you are motivated...
I built many, many models (including Byron F16, Nosen Gere Sport and Champ, and several 16' span built-up X-C sailplanes) in a small (12x10) apartment bedroom, including paint and covering. I had a 3'x8' building table, a 10" sanding disk/48" belt sander, 18" bandsaw, a floorstanding drill press, TAIG lathe and two shelving units jammed in there! RC gear installs and rigging got done on the living room table, vacuum bagging and wing sheeting on the kitchen floor, and sanding was done in the building room with a fan sucking the dust out the window (cleaning the screen often!)
I covered the carpet with pieces of 1/8" luan ply cut to fit and topped that with carpet padding and cheapo indoor/outdoor carpeting...when I moved out after 6+ years the carpet in that room was still spotless.

Yeah, they're lightsabres. Two reasons they're there...
1. I have two small sons
2. I'm in the Toy Industry - weird toys and prototypes will sometimes appear in the darndest places/photos! Please disregard...
