Default Comp Flash Throws????

Just picked up a Comp Flash, and wondering what control throws to use.

I was told as little as 5mm on Elevator with 30% - 50% expo, is this correct????

Regards

No!

The standard movement is OK but with 40-45% expo on elevator

I use less flap than they state for take off and landing

Peter,

I am running exactly the movement they recommend on the elevator but with 50% expo. However, 3-4 friends have flown mine and some found the elevator a little too powerfull for their taste. Once I clicked in 80% rate they were much happier so if I were you I would setup the rate to have 100% on top rate and 80% on low rate so you have the choice.

Also like Dave I use less flap than they specify for take off and landing.

Either way you will have a great flying plane!

Geoff.

The situation with the Flash and to a lesser degree with the Lightning is that the elevators are very powerful.
To get a balanced control response you need more expo on elevator than aileron.
I fly without rates chosing to use Expo to get a nice smooth aeroplane with small movements and still have the full movement for snaps etc (positive with the Flash/Lightning)

Like Geoff says if you have 80% available you can experiment.

I setup mt friend's flash as most people recommended, just like in the manual for the maiden. should fly soon and then we'll see if it needs correction.

According to the manual, it takes 18mm up and down for normal flying and 20-25mm for takeoff and landing?? I have mine set to the manual but haven't flown it yet???

Incidentally, the Flash I got hold of was flown at St Athan, but unfortunately had a bump with a landing light!!!!!!!

It is now fully repaired, although not mint!!!!!!

Thanks Again.

Watch that wing it was smashed back to the spar and will need strengthening as the D box adds to the strength.

Thanks, I did the repair!!

When I first saw the wing, i thought it was not worth repairing, but it was not as bad as it looked. Yes, It was back to the main spar, but with a huge chunk of High Density foam, Glass Matt, and Epoxy, it is now looking more like a wing!!!!

Looking on the Comp site, made me decide to repair, as the cost of a new wing made me cry!!!! It is more than the cost of the Fuzz.

Thanks

Hope to test it out nxt week.

Hope it holds out??? You may just get a call for a new Flash!!!!

Peter
