Mate I would be very careful with this idea of where they have put the servo, I have modified mine so as the same as FLG have there's on the web site, I have seen fifst hand what flutter can do on this model, it snapped the robart hinges in half and pulled the servo out, the fin had to be replaced.

I have decided on a HS 5245 MG for rudder. I will mount it in the fin per FE instructions.
What is FLG???

Hi Guys
My Turbine fuel pump is next to my weatronics reciever as this is the only way I can get them in the limited space available. I am worries about interferance as it is so close. Have anyone had to adopt a similar installation because of space and had no problems

thanks for that you learn something new every day here.
2 Quick questions. With the thrust tube in the f16 it is an amazingly tight fit as in denting the thrust tube a bit to get the wooden former around it has everyone else shaved a small bit off the former to get round this or just used a little brute force ?? The other one is how far from the bell mout should the turbine exhaust cone be i have the wren mw54mk3 if that matters
Cheers

Hi Rob,
I sanded the last former that goes around the pipe a bit to get a good tight slip fit. As far as the distance between the bellmouth and the engine nozel, I belive anywhere from 1/2" to 1" is desireable. For your engine I think they recommend 1" (Guys correct me if I am wrong). You mau have to cut 1/2"-1" from the inner pipe in order to get it to fit properly.
Hope that helps.
regards,
Mike

Mongo,
I used 3 or 4 2-56 screws and nuts to secure the bellmouht. the screw head goes inside and the nuts are secured with lockwasher and loctite.

Mike

Which servos are you guys using for this jet ? I have a whole bunch of hitec digitals I usually use 5955s all around in large gassers but I'm wondering if they are overkill on this jet. Would 5645s be enough ? Would be great if someone could post a complete list of everything that is needed to get this plane in the air, servos, extensions, horns etc...
Thanks
Thanks

bug*er i have riveted the bell mouth on Mike are you saying that i should have taken an inch of that side or the rear end of the thrust tube which i could still get away with doing to get it to fit. Should the end of the thrust tube be equal length to the tail cone when it is on. or just the rear of the fuse ?

Hi Rob,
I was talking about the same side as the bellmouth. Do not change anything on the rear. I set my tube to where it is a bit sticking out of the end.
Hope that helps.

Mike

Is anyone static balancing the elevators on the JE F16, they seem very rear heavy if you dont add some weight at the LE.
Not sure if this has been asked before but the search engine fetched back a blank!

Hi Lee,
I do not believe anyone as balanced the elevator. once airborne there should be no excess load on the elevator due to airflow and the shape of the elevator except when you move the stick.

Mike
