FLy Eagle Jet Models

Hi G.KERR JR. ,
There are no instruction manual or CDs. I just went throug all piece parts and the only things that you have to install is the Turbine mounting plate, Battery holder/platform, and the radio gear plate oh yeh, the former that holds the end of the tail pipe. If you mount the engine in the aft, then there is a little former and some additional parts that you would have to install. Other than that, you got to hinge the flying surgaces and few odds and ends. It should take less than a week (that is for the ones with small kids) to put it together and get it ready for maiden...... The kit is pretty much complete.
Hi drdoom,
I checked couple of the grears and boy does it hold air.....[sm=thumbup.gif]

Mike

Hi Guys,
I am back from the visit! I survived the trip from sub-zero temperature to 30C weather in Southern China.
I am going to organize my notes and pictures and get back to you.
By the way, I am going to need to book a bigger container 'cause my little empty space on the top of my container is not going to fit!
Be right back,
Mike

I asked how much shipping to Cyprus would be & they quoted me $423 via DHL. I have bought many jets from Chinese companies & the DHL charge has never been more than $250. It appears, the shipping charges are subsidising the cost of the jet. I see this a lot on E-Bay items for sale. It makes you think you are getting a bargain.
However, the total cost is still less than rival companies.
I advised Fly Eagle to negotiate a better deal with DHL to ship their product.

Hi Guys,
Here is my report. Enjoy.
1) Their driver came to pick me up. I did not realize how bad the labor shortage is now in China. It's a young company, so is their driver (5-1/2 years old). Just kidding. It's taxi cab driver's son behind the wheel.
2) Pictures of me (the one with gray shirt) and their managers. (I look younger in the RCJI magazine review, latest issue) They mean business and are really serious about how to maintain their quality and service.
3) Their F16 - painted outside the mold, water transfer decals, detailed tiger stripes, etc. - very well done. Hydraulic L/G struts, inflatable tires, etc. That tiger meet F16 on the table was booked by a Japanese customer. He called the factory while I was there just to make sure I don't sidestep his order.
Like - The paint quality is incredible, the completeness of the hardware is first class -gear doors, gear door cylinders, air valves, brake valves, everything is included. The quality of parts is superb. The price - The lowest in town during this promotional period - no complaint on that.
Don't like - The elevator control housings are made of wood. I prefer JL F16's aluminum frame and control mechanism.
They are new and eager to earn our business. The owner is also a jet flier and knows what he is doing. He offered me a demo flight, but I had to skip that for me being a mode 2 radio guy and can't figure out why mode 1 was invented in the first place. (Can someone tell me why we Americans use mode 2 and the rest of the world use mode 1?)
After a few hours of conversation with them in Chinese and some English, I don't think they were related to Skymaster nor Fei Bao. If there is a demand for quality product at great price, there is going to be a supplier for that.
Sorry for this rush report. I will fill in more after I am rested. It's stressful to be driven by a five year old boy in China.
Zivo - The tiger meet F15 is for an Israeli customer. If it's not yours, then I am taking it. I am a big fan of F15s. Need that for my Xmas.

Joe,
I was waiting on Mike's report as I usually only buy the Euro kits as their glasswork is refined and lighter.
I was also concerned that they might be using the blue tinted resin which I do not like at.
Also you may have noticed there aren't any photos of the Rafale as they are not in production as of yet so I'll let them work out the early bugs and then order one.
Wren power!!!!
Power wise the Rafale is the only model in their line up that would be feasable to power with an EDF.
I think that most anything above 1/10th scale is just too big for electric power except for maybe a twin.
When I hear the word jet I think of speed and power!

Hi Mike
Great report!
Yes friend, the F-15 tiger meet is mine....
I came up with the idea and they happily obliged to do.
It sure will be special.
I was told my planes will leave the factory in 2 weeks.
Do you have pictures of the F15 tiger meet?
Thanks,
Zivo

Guys
I have just had along look at both the construction photographs for this F16 and the Skymasters version and they seem, to my eye to be almost identical. I don't know if anyone has splashed anyone else or there has been some sort of fall out between supplier and seller but this is seriously good value for money. On the assumption that shipping to the UK will be around $300 the F16 model will be $1,200 delivered. I have priced up the Skymasters F16 1/6 Tiger Meet and it adds up to around $3,000 plus shipping with all the bits except the cockpit which is not included with the Eaglejets version.
The question is how do they do it for this money or is everyone else ripping us off?

the others like SM have put forth the time and money to do the design and development and testing of the jet and then pay another company to do the labor of producing them after all the bugs are worked out, then those producers start to make their own version of the exact same thing and they don't have all the previous expenses sunk into development so they can sell for a drastically reduced cost. it's Chinese business ethics at its finest not really anything new

Hi Guys,
Good morning China! I am rested and ready to head back home to California with my Christmas gift. I need a bigger Christmas tree to tug all the big boxes under.
Can't tell you my gift list 'cause my wife is going to shoot me.
Their development status,
1. Rafael - test flown the prototypes, now they are adding panel lines and working out all the bugs. So I suggest that we wait until they got their X2 or X3 debugged. I will put my Wren 44 Gold on that little bird. P60 will give more raw power
2. AT3 - Same stage as Rafael.
3. F15 - There are not a lot of panel lines on this production version, but the paint quality and glass work are well done.
4. Other planes - Not sure, it's at least 6 months away. They still need to focus on the F16, F15 production first.
5. Shipping cost - I will find out if it would be cheaper to ship from my companies in China. We have a UPS regional base here, so there might be an advantage. Will find out.
Zivo - You will get 2 instead of 4 'cause I need to take back 2 F15s too. Thanks for the Tiger idea.
My concern is that they are relatively new and we should all give them time to work out all the bugs first before we place big orders on them. F16 is the safest bet for now. They still need to worry about many things - the labor shortage, the management, quality assurance etc. and of course the shipping cost.

how can there be a labor shortage in china? last I knew there were 1.6 billion Chinese Population and with a 10 million increase each year... This is why labor is so cheap there... here in the USA we are only at 300 million. BTW if you guys only knew how little it cost to produce theses kits over there you would be amazed.
There F16 really looks great only wish they had it in the 1/6 scale.

Believe it or not, they are facing the labor shortage and raising labor cost because of RMB appreciation and internal economic growth.
My other business is suffering from these elements too. The hidden costs are also rising because their government are imposing more restriction and social welfare. However, it's still cheaper in comparison to our cost structure in the States.
I hope so too, 1/6 F-16 is what I am drooling for.

Hi Mike
Careful now, you will have to face 2 of my angry buddies should you take any of their planes... not recommended...
We have a very large order there, and were toassured it leaves the factory on the 30th. Just make sure they meet the deadline..
BTW, will they do a custom paint job of a totaly new scheme?
Cheers,
Zivo

Hi Zivo,
I have a boat leaving on the 21th of December, first come first serve.
Just kidding. You need these F-15s to protect your borders, so you can have them first, comrade.
I am sure they will, you will have to ask them, but don't bug them too much. I want my orders done first.
I can have my crew do the custom paint scheme for you if Fly Eagle don't have time to do that. I can order the primer version from them and have my private building crew to work on yours. Send me the documentation and see if we can do the same or better.
Right now, I am working on a couple of JL F-16 and F-15 custom painted in support of my friends in Iraq. I am putting his squadron artwork and his name on the cockpit. I am also working on a JL-T-45 with my name on it!
