Default Jet Wheels and bearings

Hi Guys, I'm in the process of making my own wheels for my jets, my first intentions are to put bearings in them. but have noticed that the majority of wheels out there just have bushings. Are bearings over kill?, any reason not to put them in?

Thanks

Angus

Bearings will get killed
the "balls"are most of the time so small ,that on landing the impact of the force would cause the balls to damage the cage.
and after some time would get stuck.
our system is based on thick brass , and is self lubricating.
however most manufaxctuers use copper piping to go over the axles and act as a "bearing"

Well you guys have me worried?

I just yesterday installed Yellow retracts, wheels, & brakes on my Yellow F-15. All three wheels utilize ball bearings? Should I expect major problems quick? If so any recommendations from anyone who has experienced this set up ?

I have L/G from Skymaster and they have ballbearing on their wheels. No problem with that so far

Digitech.....I does make sense,

I do have a set of Behotec wheels that have bearings, I have them on a Hotspot and have about 40 landings on it and they are still perfect, free wheeling and no play.

Maybe because all my landings are Greased in[sm=wink_smile.gif]

I wonder if needle roller bearings would be good in this application.
Not seen any small enough.
