Default Panther Tail Pipe Location

Hi Guys.
I am currently fitting the pipe inside my Panther and thought about it's location relative to the fuse bottom and tail section. Since the pipe exit is well behind the fuse and tail I was wondering if I am going to have problems with heat. In particular do I have to worry about melting the bottom of the fuse and rudder. Those with Panthers and Cougars please respond.
Thanks!!
Dom

Hi Dom,

I´m in the process of finishing a Ziroli Panther. Pipe from Orbit exits precisely at the end of fuselage/exhaust opening. To protect fin and rudder I am going to place a piece of litho-plate under the curved part of the fin. Those Panthers I have experienced did not suffer from heat in that part....
Your Panther looks B I G! What make is it?

the jet blast keeps the heat well away from the tail, you have nothing to worry about on that.

EDIT: i noticed you are using a bell mouth on your pipe though so i assume it's not in a bypass?? if not then you might have heat issues inside the fuselage with extended taxiing. not sure if you have that problem with your A4 but i do on mine so it's just something you might wanna keep an eye on during those first runs.

It is a Fei Bao Panther.

Yes I decided to not use the bypass included in the kit. I like open systems. Never had a problem with my jets since I wrap the fuse in BVM Heat Blanket and Aluminum tape all the way around where the gap between the pipe and turbine is. Also with the Panther I can taxi with the inner flaps (under fuse) down opening the fuse for cooling if needed.

Thanks guys!!
Dom

FWIW if like the D.Gill panther it should be about 1/16" to 1/8" before the end of the fuselage(@ tail pipe)
