Default ADJETS SCORPION

I haven't heard much about the Scorpion lately.

Altecare rc has a great price on them now,
and was wondering if the Wren xl 200 would be a good mach
I have it in a FieBao Rafale now at 23lbs dry( ist a blast )

My real consern is ,have they gotten the build qulity up to par yet.
yes I know its a great looking and flying jet , but I
dont want to spend 10 or so hours with a dremal
before I get to mount something

If you have purchased on of the new comebos and have the kit please chim in

well, I got the Phoenix from them, I had to dremel alot, all servo bays, landing gear even when I bought things that book reccommended. I have now sold that jet cause it lands to fast, I got one before CG change and I think I was a test pilot because after I called peter and talked to him, a bit later an update with CG was going in manual.

The scorpion is a fun and great flying plane and you will not be disappointed. The small scorpion was really designed for motors in the 30lbs range.

As far as building there no different than anyone else’s kit’s. My builder has built a lot of different planes and brands for me over the years and they all have required some fitting.

The CG is a little too far forward on the manual for my taste. This plane will tolerate large CG changes so don't be afraid to move it around to fine tune to your flying style.

The scorpion, AD Angel, AD Phoenix are all great short field planes if built and set up properly. I have flown all three off of my 250ft field with no problems.
Here is a vid of my AD Angel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tROKHdi0EDU

If you get one don’t hesitate to call me or ask any questions.

It lands like a ***** cat if you move the CG back and know how to land with flaps and Crow.

@ Don Perry

shown the last 3 Photos the Scorpion or the Super Scorpion?

Some guys told me you cannot land the Super Scorpion with more Flaps than 20mm, if more the flaps will produce dirty air on the elevator , so you didn´t have force on the elevator.

Can you confirm this?

regards

Jörg

Jörg

Mine are all the small scorpion.

Since they both have large flying stabs I would say not, on the loss of evevator control with this plane. Make sure the CG is not too far forward.

On mine I went with max throws and added some expo untill it felt right to me.

My rafale does not handle cross wind at all typical delta
I would think the scorpion doesn't mind them to much is this true

The scorpion does great in crosswinds, and here on Oklahoama we get'em strong!

It is a very stable plane to get set up on long or short final and cross control (slip) like we do in the real ones and you can squeek it on every time!
