whats up with the horrible geometry on the nose gear steering?? 3 rd photo post 191.... is there a reason for this??

not horrible at all! it works great!
the reason is the plastick conector.it is offset! this is why it calls for this set up.and becouse of the offset the geometry is corect!
if you have a set avaliable give it a try!

your still not at 90 and 90. Im betting it turns sharper one direction with equal servo travels.
Why is it criss-crossing anyways, why not straight?
Why use such a long servo arm? Isnt it better to have a short servo arm and run your ATV's at 100% or greater?

RE: Skymaster plus 1:5.5 BAE Hawk
Hi!
Can anyone help me...
I have the old hawk, and are now (trying) to install the engine. The mounts on my merlin 90 are in the center of the turbine.
So then the turbine have to be liftet up a bit ? use the 2 wodden blocks that says "for jetcat 120".

your still not at 90 and 90. Im betting it turns sharper one direction with equal servo travels. you are right .there is no need for equal servo travels since you can reduse end points.
you also need to add expo to soften the stering.so this is not a heli pich servo set up. we dont care if servo will travel faster to one direction than the other to get the same degrees.
with the reduse end points and the expo needed you will never notice this.
Why is it criss-crossing anyways, why not straight?thatwould be great !but 1-wont clear doors and opening for retracting 2-with equal servo travels you dont get equal stering travels becouse of the offset mount i mention above
Why use such a long servo arm? Isnt it better to have a short servo arm and run your ATV's at 100% or greater?
"been there try that" no its not better becouse of the nature of the offset hole..resolution is still good with this set up dont worry/we own the stering retract unit.feel free if you own one of this units to set up 90/90 degrees smaller arm and come up with photos and resolts.

RE: Skymaster plus 1:5.5 BAE Hawk
Hi
In my Hawk I have the nose wheel steering pushrod straight. I don´t have any problems with the doors (2 doors in the nose) opening or closing an I have peace of mind that the geometry of the pushrod is better. In any case you are right that with your setup you get enough travel to do the job adjusting asimetrical end points and expo.
Regards

I exchanged K-80E to P-120. The P-120 is not stable as K-80E when I slow pass the runway.
The fuel consumption at 1.6 L for P-120 can fly 5 min, for K-80E can over 8.5 min.

from my expirience no.
i have hard flew 3 of them till now.
all got a hitec 5645 mg on the rudder. ...point rolls .. knifes ... no promblem what so ever
the fin on the hawk has a very good stracture and no flexibility
i got a p160 on mine and fly it with proper throtle managment..
thats not a speed frame

What sort of diameter lens do ya need? Thought of dealing to a cheap torch to make it fit.
