I just realized that the Jet Cat turbine mounting brackets actually offset the turbine down from the center thrust line by about 7mm. Do you guys actually add spacers to the mounting tabs to UN-offset it? The jet is a CA Eurosport.

In some cases yes. Just add a wood spacer and drill through it so that it can't slip when securing the lower half of the bracket to the turbine mounting rails. I like to put 6-32 blind nuts (t-nuts) on the bottom side of the rails so that its easy to remove the entire turbine assembly.

This is the way JetCat has made them since day one.
Don't look for a change......it won't happen..There was another thread on the same subject recently.

Harley,
(Why?)
First, why was it made that way to begin with?
Second, why won't it change?

CountryBoy,
Thanks for the illustration. It just confirms my suspicion all along. BTW that alignment fixture for the bellmouth is pretty neat.

Why are you so sure it won't it happen , rather a negative approach not related to customer needs and requests ???
It was supposed to have been that way to make it compatible with Ramtec fans, now totally outdated, but its a real irritation and no other manufacturer does it that way !!
I just don't understand why , when JetCat are constantly improving their superb engines, they cannot fix this strange anomaly.

Im not sure if this is correct or not.
But I beleive it was so you could directly retrofit a Ramtec fan powered aircraft with a Jetcat turbine. The Ramtec fans mounts were not on the center line but raised a bit. Unlike the Dynamax which was on the center line of the fan.
