Default UP3 Question

Hello Everyone,
I'm quite sure that this may have been mentioned in many a post, but I'm in search of just a little more info than what I have found so far. I would like to know if anyone knows of a post on here or can show me a diagram of how the UP3 valve can work specifically on a nose wheel set-up. Three gears and three doors. I have read some post that explain having to use another valve on the nose gear door but have also been told all that is unnecissary is just the UP3. I have the valve already. My gear need to come down with the doors remaining down as well. If anyone could provide me with a photo or schematic of this set-up without the hassle of any other valves having to be used, please inform me. Thank-you.[8D]

Hover,

My JMP T-33 uses a UP-3 to control the retracts and the gear doors. No other valve is needed.

The side of the valve that has 3 nipples (ports)is the retract side. The center port is for your air supply. The port closest to the servo is for up retract. The one on the other side of the air supply port is for down retract. There are also 2 ports on top of the valve directly above the retract up and down ports. I plumbed my mains to ports on the side of the valve and the nose to the 2 ports on top.

The opposite side of the valve is for the gear doors. It has the same port setup as the retract side. They are plumbed the same way. Ports closest to the servo are for door close.

Hope this helps. Is this for the Eurosport or are you working on something else?

I hope this helps, no other valve is needed. Doors stay open when gear is down

Thank-you,
3DHELINUT and grbaker. This does explain alot compared to the diagram I received with it. So I guess I'd be using a Y for the mains. Does this create any pressure difference in bridging the two mains together, where the top two nipples will just be running the front retract?
Oh, and how did you know I had a Eurosport grbaker? This valve is going on my FB Velox I just bought in the blue and yelow scheme. I've got an Artes Falcon for it.

I have never had any issues with these valves they have always worked, hook up your lines set your delay and your done.
Ron Propeil said it best ( set it and forget it)

Hoversmooth999,

Won't be a problem splitting the mains with a T or Y fitting.

BTW - I knew you had a Eurosport because we met one time, but for the life of me I can't remember where it was. We talked a little about Eurosports because I used to have one.

Where can I buy the UP3? Does anyone have them "online" or do I have to go thru the painful ordering process on the MFG site?

If you will be using brakes too, may I suggest this:

http://www.dreamworksrc.com/catalog/...oducts_id=1476

This way you get rid of 2 servos (retracts + brake). I did the math and this setup is like $50 more depending on the type of servos you typically use. (vs UP3/BVM Smooth Stop/JR Servos).

Hello grbaker,
I think I recall meeting you at the Waco Jet Fly several weeks ago now that I think of it, if you were there? You had a Grey colored Eurosport. I noticed you said that you HAD the Eurosport. Did you sell it? Thanks for the replies.[8D]
Regards,
Emilio

I traded the Eurosport to a friend for a YA F-18.

I haven't been to Waco since March 22nd.

Emilio,

It took a while to sink in, but you are right, it was Waco. You were arriving just as I was loading up to leave. Man, I hate it when the mind doesn't work.[:@]

Good luck with the Velox and hope to see you in Waco for the GSW.

Good to know you remembered Mr. Baker,
I sure liked that Eurosport of yours and I've had a ball with mine. This Velox should prove to be a bullet with the Artes Falcon I chose for it. Good to hear from you and I hope to make it back up to Waco soon as well. Hope to see you there and I hope to have my new jet done too.
Regards,
Emilio[8D]

I plan to be there with these 2. Don't think I could fit another one in.
