RE: Gateway Jets (St Louis) Pictures
It is very easy to explain how much fun I had. I burned right at 20 gal of fuel this weekend.
With that said I would also like to thank everyone that made this event happen. The ground crew went the extra mile to make sure that everything was in great shape. Flight control was great with no major issues. With you all going to 2.4 on your radio I got the channel 21 pin on Thursday and gave it back on Sunday before leaving. That is something that I am going to have to get up to date on. Pat you are the man and Eardoc thanks for everything especially getting me that Kero. and hope your back is ok. If you weren't at this event you missed out on perfect weather, awesome folks, good flying, and most important excellent food. I enjoyed seeing old friends and making new ones. Hope everyone made it home safely as we did about 3hrs ago now and hope to see you all again soon.

Slow Bro, Pancake, Arkansas Kid,....... I was given so many nicknames I don't know which one to use

RE: Gateway Jets (St Louis) Pictures
Guys -
Just got home after cleaning up the field and locking the Gates.
What an awesome time we had during those 4 1/2 days!!! Today I darned near cried seeing everyone pulling out of the parking lot as you guys headed home throughout the day. You guys are ALL family to us and I seem to get more and more attatched to you guys each and every year. [] I would like to thank the SLRC crew for making the Event such a HUGE success. We had 31 Pilots and that is just about right. (there is always room for more next year)
Today I logged 7 flights on the new Camo BobCat and we made 3 BOMB runs. We tried to hit a target but never came close to it. I guess I need to practice some more! What a great time we had!
Man.....................I am missing you guys already and cant wait for next year! Boy................runnin these Events really wears a guy out but it is SOOOOOO worth it! [8D]
Okay Alec..........................lets keep those pictures rolling! Devi.................thank you so much for the pictures for us to share and relive the moments!

I would like to thank Pat, our trusty CD, for all the effort he put into this. We know he loves the event, but it's a hard job getting there (between organizing, building planes under a time deadline, etc). But when you are part of 5 or 6 jets chasing each other around the sky at full power, the buzz it gives you seems makes it all worthwhile to me, and I know it has the same effect on Frosty.
This is Pat and his camo Bobcat after an exciting high-speed session we had Saturday afternoon. It's that feeling you look forward to all Winter

Dale:
I was planning to make up a picture CD of the event with all the pictures we have in high resolution.
Anyone who wants a copy can send me a PM with their e-mail and mailing addresses, and I'll send a copy.
May take a few weeks as the schedule is sorta busy right now.
Also, if you have taken good pictures (Jim, Sherry?) and you can send me them, I'll include them on the disk.
Thanks to all who came, the flyers, the club members and to the spectators (both at the field and on RCU).
I told you it was going to be a good one.......
Alec

I didn't get much time to take pictures, due to being so busy with the cooking, flying, visiting and laughing at Paul's jokes...my sides are still sore today!!
If you missed this one, you missed a good one.
Thanks to all the members that pitched in and helped. Ya' done good....
See you next year.....

Ron -
For the Pilots' that were not there you missed out on some of the BEST cooking we have ever tasted. Friday night Ron cooked 150 Chicken Wings marinated in some sweet $50.00 per Gallon BBQ sauce with bacon wrapped stuffed Jalepeno Poppers! Saturday night we had 60 - ONE pound Pork Chop Steaks with two HUGE trays of Cheesy Potatoes! Honestly....................these were the best Pork chops I have ever tasted as well as the Cheddar melted Potatoes! Ron - We cannot thank you enough for your hard work and money spent to take care of the Workers and Pilots'. You truly are a friend for life and it shows as bright as the Sun! [8D]

RE: Gateway Jets (St Louis) Pictures
I would like to say "Thank You" to my good friend Sean Saddler whom helped me ready my BobCat while I was off helping several guys with waivers Thursday through Sunday. Sadly enough I was only thanked by one Gentleman whom I helped obtain a waiver this weekend out of 3 guys. I got no "thank you" from the other 2 guys and one stormed off mad Sunday morning because I couldnt help him with a 7th flight to try for his waiver. I apologize to them for not being there every second but when you are the CD of an Event and trying to keep the spectators entertained as well as run the microphone and have to baby sit a 3 year old all day Friday and help 3 other guys with JetCat turbine questions/problems and 2 other guys with BVM products it sadly doenst leave much time for anything else. I have decided that next year I will NOT help with turbine waivers and they can go elsewhere or find another pilot to help them out. Again I am sorry but I just dont think I can handle that much in one weekend again. The HOT/FAST action flying with my Bros made it all worth it with my family in the background cheering me on. [&:] Cant wait for next year!!!

I think I picked up a couple of new nicknames at the event............ French Vanilla, Sparkly Wiggles..... actually, I think everybody there got one.
This past weekend was a blast! I burned 12 gallons of kero trying to set a new r/c jet time to climb and altitude records.
Sean and Ben put on one hell of a show with there aerobatic formation flying as well as Patrick with his percision bomb drops. By the way Pat, awesome paint job on the Bobcat. All I can say is sweeeeeeeeeet!
When the sun went done and the flying stopped( did I mention we flew til the sun went down), it was one big party! I'm like you Ron, my sides are sore from laugh so much. There were no shortage of jokes at this event.
It was great seeing everyone again and I can hardly wait til next year. I have a whole year to work on new material for next years event.[sm=tongue_smile.gif]

RE: Gateway Jets (St Louis) Pictures
Wow! What a weekend, I cant thank the the whole ST. Louis crew enough for all there hard work. And special thanks to Alec and Devi for there great hospitality. Also Stan for letting me use your (airconditioned trailer) for over night storge. For those that could not make it you missed a good one. There are only a couple places where you can fly hard and have a good time and this is definently one of them.
Some things that come to mind are, Dale you are the man on the mic. No dout. The guy is perfect for the job. And if nobody lets you get your hands on there jet I will hook you up next year.
Also doing the Red Bull thing with Sean Saddler. And it only gets better. And the Sunday entertainment with Frosty, Paul and Dennis [X(] Only thing that was missing there was Alec, due to a little back injury that morning[]. Hope you recover quick for Winamac.
And lets not forget Paul with his altitude record breaking verticle climbs[X(] I dont no how you got that thing back a couple of times, Nice job.
Fast bro... You make that Euro sport rock man! Good to meet you and your Dad.
Frost, Great job on the Bobcat. I dont think you need my help any more[&o]. And as always Ron ballard with his great cooking.
See you guys next year.............
Ben

Dale,
You did an awesome job of announcing this year and you didnt get me in trouble this time! Seriously Bro.................................you were on top of your game and your kept the spectators pumped up from morning to night! You are a HUGE asset to the Gateway Jet Rally and if it were not for guys like YOU and Ron and the Stellern Brothers (flight line crew) we would not have had such a SUPERB event! Thanks again for keeping us entertained! You and I both know that these Events are a lot of work but it's all worth it in the end!
