Good idea to for transporting/storage, with the wings removed, it takes up little space, but still keeps parts together for minimum hanger rash.

question guys with prolink gear. on the nose gear do you have a good amount play in th front gear. i guess it is normal to have play. my elan also has the same thing. i guess its desighned that way. also over the weekend i had to run a new pull pull on the nose gear due to it snapping fom the nose gear hitting it. its fixed and seems to work great. also i know your not suppose to have alot of tension on the cables when its centered. mine feel loose until you moveleft to right then they tighten up. just curious if anybody elses is this way..

Hi Guys, Well I have 15 flights on the Sprint w/ a P80-Se,, The plane is incredible,, by far the best flying plane I have ever owned.. Stress free is highly an under statment.
Just a quick note for you guys using down thrust to avoid heat on the stab,, It's really not needed, I have no downthrust and havent had a problem at all.. This plane flys like a dream... Rock steady, hardly affected by strong winds,, she will knife edge forever..... This is my first Turbine Jet and I'm very very Happy with it... Here's a video my son put together from this past Saturday.. If you guys have any questions about my set up feel free to ask..... P.S. watch the pilots head at the end of the video, lol Ron

I covered the bottom of the stab with the aluminum tape also,,, it really never gets hot, but I guess its better safe than sorry. And yes the spool time on the SE is very fast...
I couldnt imagine flying it with anything less than a P80 or the P70 .. although it is said to fly with a P60 I'm sure you couldnt get the vertical performance or the speed you get with the P80.

i have the p70 in mine. you do have to be carefull if you are going to do a go around with the p70 because of the spool time. it flys fast on the 70 but i bet the 80 is awesome in it. i am glad your enjoying it.

Hello all

i am getting ready to fly the Sprint next weekend so i am finishing up all the fiddly bits. including getting the hatch to slide on easily. i tried it last night and was/am really having a difficult time. i also i think realized for the 1st time when i ran the turbine the other day that i CANNOT just grab the back of the hatch and give it a shove....little hot back there.

so, my question is, is anyone using the JetTec tank on their bird? i am using tie-wraps to secure it but i am thinking that the knucle that forms where you clip the tie wrap is somehow hitting the top of the hatch inside and causing an issue. i ran out to time last night to mess with it and have too much to do until about noon today to touch it. i am going to remove the top tie-wrap and try some HD velco strap to see how that works. i just know that the hatch has to slid on smoothly and off smoothly as well.

as for getting another tank, i was told that the JetTec for the Elan is a fit for the Sprint.

help!!

did you push the tank as far forward as possible? did you have the "knuckle" on the top of the tank? i was using 2 14" ties and then "tying" them together with another 14" tie. i think you can see the side ties in this pic

Thanks.

between calls i went down to the "shop" and used Vel-Tye to replace the zip ties holding the other zip ties together. so, no knuckle on the top of the tank and NOW the hatch fits perfectly. man, that's a tight fit!! i have to glue on the canopy and then airbrush the intakes and put some silicone sealant on the intakes between the intakes and fuse. little gap, no performance effect but i dont like how it looks.

then finish up the programming of the 12 X man i wish i was flying this weekend, but my teacher is at another event. next weekend....

pat

ok. here is my last question. i need a pilot for my plane. i need to order it by tomorrow. i thought that the helmet head pilot i picked up at a hobby shop would work but at 4" high, its just a little too high. PLUS i realized last night he has no visor. how uncool is that.

I have the White/Blue/yellow design.

i have been on Horizon and they only have a red pilot. dont like that. went to ExtremeFlight. too big. in fact, just about all the Helmet Head folks are too big, desitned for 28% or better. this guy needs to be about 3.75" or perhaps slightly less to fit.

dont really want a doll pilot, just something. i'm about ready to put SpongeBob Squarepants in there and be done with it.

anyone. help!

Not sure if you are looking for military or cilivian, but these are cheap and light and not horrible looking. I have the second one in a BAE hawk:

This fellow has a serious visor - a bit goofy:

It's a sports jet, don't be so serious about the pilot, save that for the scale stuff
