RE: Boomerang Sprint Build Thread!
Xairflyer is correct, the thrust line is relative to the datum line on the fus and in normal parlance is related to the nose of the airfame and also what happens to the AOA when applied, so if we assume the airframe is pivoting around the C of G with the thrust line behind the C of G and the turbine pointing towards the ground the nose will pitch down and the AOA will decrease, to get the same effect with the thrust acting in front of the C of G the thrust line will need to point up to force the nose down, hence up thrust

I was wondering,in such accident, what sort of charges normally the law will take upon the concern flyer in your country. Kindly give your opinion based on your country law. (Sorry off topic a little)

RE: Boomerang Sprint Build Thread!
Hi,
Being in the legal business myself, I can tell you there probably won't be any legal action. I can't speak for his family but this happened in AZ back in 1991 or 1992 in a warbird race and the plane got out of control and hit and killed one of the judges. At that time, cages wern't around and he wasn't wearing a helmet. Nothing came of it legally that I can remember. Things are different now. If the man who was flying was drinking or on drugs, that could pose a different issue. Was the person who died the pilot?

Drill small holes through wells and into wing sheeting. Use approx 1/2" squares of 1/16 or 1/8" scrap ply, ca into wing under the sheeting holes in 7 or 8 places and use small screws to fasten.
That way you can remove the wells later to service airlines etc.
Gary.

Hi,
Gary is exactly correct on that method. I used it as well. If you go to post 663 and post 689 (mine) on this thread, you can see what we are talking about. Take your time when triming these out. Although the instructions don't show it, there is a right and left wheel well.
Good luck,

That is exactly what I did and it has saved me a lot of headache! I have had to fix the retracts many times after ripping them out.

RE: Boomerang Sprint Build Thread!
Well got my first flights in with the Sprint...what a fantastic flying jet....Flies exactly as advertised...fun to fly..low pressure! Powered with a P-80 what a fantastic combo!! Allen and Patricia were there to answer questions right away. I found the build to be enjoyable and really didn't run into any problems.
Everything fit very well ! I also took advantage of the great price sandor was offering on his trailing link retracts designed for the Sprint and find them fantastic...really like the machine work: and the disk like braking system works awesome! I took this jet from delivery to first flight in 2 weeks 3 days working only part time on the jet.... Both Allen and Sandor offer a great product at a fair price....doesn't get much better than that!!! I see this quickly becoming my favorite "kick around" jet
Add me to the list of happy boomerang customers
best
Brian : )
BTW The howling noise it makes in flight is really kewl!!!

RE: Boomerang Sprint Build Thread!
Went to fly the boomer yesterday and noticed that my flap was not raising
all the way up. After looking into it further I had noticed the my flap servo mount
was broken. The servo was just sitting on the mount not attached to anythng.
Called Patricia and told her what I had done now I havn't called boomerang for over
a year and she remembered everyhing about me.She had said "my customers are not just
customers they are family" Top notch service as usuall.
Thank you Patricia service like this is hard to come by.

RE: Boomerang Sprint Build Thread!
Hello guys/gals,
I have a newly acquired Jet Central Super Bee. It is rated at 14lb of thrust with some people reporting upwards of 14.5lb.
Ideally I would like a plane slightly smaller than the Sprint for this turbine but I really don't like the shape of the Nano and how its just consistently round until the fuse ends (just cant get over the hotdog look ).
On the other hand I really like how the fuselage of the Sprint is shaped and know I will also welcome the extra wing area being that this would be my first jet.
My questions comes with respect to how the Sprint flies with a small engine like mine. I know at least one guy on this thread has it flying with this same turbine(I read the entire thread) so its not a question of whether it will or not.
I has to do more with the fact that I fly of a grass field and although it is usually kept pretty low it still poses more drag than asphalt. This is a normal field and its a pretty big open space but there are no other turbines being flown from it that I know to reference.
I will be getting my waiver etc at a different field that is about 1-1.5hrs away where they mostly do just jets so that wont be a problem. I guess I am worried about taking off grass with this engine etc.
Also, any input on top speed with a turbine this size? (It is a jet after all and I don't want it flying at 100mph max)
Thanks in advance.
Chris

sorry cant help with grass, but my sprint with my bee flew fine of my paved field. its wasnt the fastest. but it flew fine.
i upgraded to falcon, its fun with the falcon, but it adds about 2 lbs to the flight weight if i am remembering correctly.
