Kool Beans, Keith

Did you glue your fuse together?

Did you remove the tanks and redo the plumbing?

Did you reinforce the center line of the main tank with fiber cloth and epoxy?

Are you installing a smoke tank or will you gut one of the drop tanks and install a tank in it?

Are you busy this weekend? I can fly you to America and you can build anyone of my puppies for me. I can pay you with Pizza and a 6-Pack of your favorite beer

Thanks...

...one question so far, I see, that you have two tanks left and right of the turbine -
are thes two header tanks -
what's the preferred installation of the tanks - are you putting all the tanks in parallel regarding
the piping or is it better to do it in series ?

Hi Dj no glue on fuse looks ok to me without

i did redo pluming changed black tubing for tygon 4mm id used heavy clunks
i have had no prob,s with any FEJ tanks just check them for leaks pump them to 3/4 PSI submerge in water

no smoke i do not need extra weight it has to be under 20kgs to fly in uk over 20kgs it has to have lots of testing done

send tickets i will be on next plane out

Keith,

On your install it looks like you are not using an onboard propane tank. You are feeding direct to the solenoid from external supply with a Festo one-way connector. The problem I see is the location of your one way connector. If that connection pops a leak during startup, being that close to the turbine exhaust, things could get very exciting (in a bad way) very quickly![X(]

I'd move that one-way valve towards the front, away from the turbine exhaust. It would be a lot safer in the long run.

Andy,
My Diamond scheme 18 is supposed to be here tomorrow. Lost my SM F-16 today[&o] Flame out and misjudged approach and planted it. My bad...dropped gear too soon, slowed plane too much and thought I was parallel to runway end when I turn from downwind to base...but was waaaaay out there...just haven;t flown much the past several weeks. Airframe is total loss...turbine, gear and everything else is fine.

What is up with this EMS shipping? Man, I have been trying to track my plane for over a week now...nothing!!! They say it has shipped and en route last Monday. The EMS site says "no information for this number, enter another". I was given two tracking numbers.

I had my SM F-16 retratcs come EMS. Same deal...finally just showed up one day...delivered by the mailman!!!

Isn't this supposed to be some kind of shipping company? Someone give me some info here.

Thanks!
Rex

Check your local post office, mine sat there for almost a week. Because the tracking site said it was still in customs I assumed it was still in china. Give a call to the post office.

Oh NOOOO! Same thing happened to mine but the damage was not as bad. She will fly again as soon as I finish the repairs (time time time!). My smoke oil pump line burst and dumped all of the smoke oil into the turbine intake. Flamed out couldn't quite make the runway and ended up landing in scrub brush.

Let us know the condition and your thoughts of the kit when it comes in. I'm going to put the Rhino LPSS in mine.

Hi Andy

Sorry for your mishap.....

What does LPSS stands for? I guess something like 18 Kg (40 Pouds) of thrust

I have a P160 that I might push to 18 to 20Kg (40 to 45 Pounds) or wait for the Mammoth.

What thrust do you get from the Low Push Steady Slow Rhino. Oh!!! Did I just found the meaning?

Regards

Nuno

Has anyone else done a maiden flight on their FEJ F-18F? If so, share the experience and the video if available.

Well, she's finally done & ready for flight! Best news is 54lbs 12oz fueled ready for takeoff, wing tanks are NOT mounted. The tanks are about 12oz ea so would put me over the AMA limit. After I put in a few flights I'll mount the tanks, including the belly tank for smoke and have it certified for Experimental.

I've got the P-200 installed for now. I just hope those carbon rods are mounted strongly in the wings! I'll take it easy for the first 10 flights or so, but I gotta know if this thing can Turn & Burn!

I might get a chance to fly this weekend but, if not, next weekend for sure, weather permitting.
