Default thanks for promoting jets

as my last thread was deleted for what reason i will never know. the new mods dont have the manners or guts to tell you in a pm. i will say it again to curtiss matikow. thanks, the article in the ama mag did the jet guys right. it promotes jets to someone who may be intimidated by how they look complex, but arent so complex etc. it got us, as a group, more press time then we have ever seen. lastly, if thanking someone for their service to the jet groups warrants a deletion, then i expect to see all thank you threads deleted. there is another one running right now. otherwise let it be and reinstate curtiss as a user. thanks barry

I'm with you Barry. Easytiger was/is entertaining and helpful. His articles in MA and RCJI are great - lots of good info. Not sure if he even wants back in, but I vote for re-instatement!

thanks for your thoughts and input bruce. i am off to go fly today in 100 plus temps. i will be promoting the hobby and may run into some newbies and tell them about this site, as i always do. i only hope when i return this evening, that my thread is still going on this matter unlike the one yesterday. barry

I had a near-death experience reading that thread at the time it was nuked I was going to post a reply when my screen flickered, and a window popped up saying either I was not logged in, or that I no longer had posting priveleges...what the .......?????

I hit the back button and it was like going back in time...everything was normal again, except one thread was missing.........

I don't think it is the thank you that got it nuked, it was the call for reinstatement.......This gentleman has a long, long, long, long history of erractic behaviour on every RC forum, most of whom banished him. He is an extremely talented and entertaining writer at times, but he does have a dark side, and it has surfaced many times.....

You are right…I’ll be surprised if this one will be here after Berry gets back from flying.

Barry, do not feel bad because I’ve got few of my posts removed without any PM telling me why it was removed which is totally against RCU moderation policies. I even sent a PM asking why it was removed; the PM was read (I have read confirmation) but no reply to my inquiry in more than 48 hrs.

Overall, I still strongly believe that the MODs are doing a good job. I will take the new ones time to get things rolling the way it should.

Best Regards

Ben

You will fall asleep and fall out of you chair at that place. You knocked it in the head when you said "Good". There are a few good ones out there...but not USA based, and none as entertaining as RCU.

I'll also go on record as saying that RCU is not near as entertaining as it was when ET & Wojtek were around.

I think that is fair to come here and tell that there are more places in the web to have fun chatting with jet people as long that I don´t post the URL´s . One of them is U.S. based and it is very good also for reading about foamies and extraterrestrial subjects... LOL

just returned from a great day of flying. the weatherman never gets it right around here. 100 plus temps, foooey, low 90's all day. he scared them all away. by noon everyone was leaving. 1 oclock and we had the runway to ourselves. took my "yeahbaby reaction" and wildcat out. even, as i said, gave a newbie this website. so can we or cant we reinstate curtiss. i know he plays the devils advocate from time to time, but it keeps you thinking and he truely has a passion for the hobby that cant be denied. after that kind of press in the ama rag, i just think a second chance is warranted. barry

Hey Barry -

Meant to ask you - how are the baby Mockingbirds coming along? Talking about a love for flight - there's action to back it up.

Fact: ET has pissed off many a moderator.

Fact: ET is very opinionated about a few things.

Fact: ET has been banned from at least 2 forums that I personally know of.

Fact: ET has even pissed off at least 2 guys that he sold jets to, but he was always VERY upfront and communicative.

Fact: Call ET on the phone, talk to him yourself and you'll see, he's a very reasonable and funny guy.

Opinion: I miss ET too. And you to Voy!

Raf

PS: Curtiss why all the foam man?

Fact: ET is a smart chap who always had it within his power to decide how much of a positive or negative influence he wanted to be here on RCU, and he made his choices and eventually paid the price for those choices.

When he became too much of a negative for too long the mod's simply said enough is enough because they couldn't see what the positives were that made it worth putting up with all the extra work he caused. Ben and I defended him many, many times and went out of our way to prevent him being banned on numerous occasions, but even I eventually gave up.

Anyway, what I wanna know is : if the article truly was by ET, how come it recommended buying a reputable turbine that would start first time, rather than telling everyone how great JetJoe is ?

Fact: It will take an "Act of Congress" to bring ET back
Fact: I do not think majority of RCU members would want to welcome him back. Though he is posting here under an alias name which to my greatest surprise is what he preaches against at the other forum.

Conclusion: Whatever RCU management decides to do would be acceptable by me. (Q.E.D)

Barry,
That reaction is one of the worst looking models I have ever seen, let me have it and you build another one....
BTW I hear you are getting a new project, one I should have jumped on awhile back, it is going to make a fine looking plane. Just no rainbows on it....please....
