we are all clean right now <snip> they made over 20,000 attempts with this technique on our servers!
Thanks for the updates Marc. Let's be sure to buy more ARF model products and consistently shop at Wal-Mart to reward their economic system ... [>:]

Did anyone else have their printer start running by itself? Mine took off as soon as I logged on RCU and wouldn't stop until trend micro got rid of the virus. As soon as I logged back on RCU....it started again. Weird....

Ahah yeah. Actually the best we can do is :

1- Use secured servers and software : i.e. ban Microsoft based products and favor open source ones.

2- Hire qualified software security engineers to protect the web site.

My 2 cents.

Supposing that your computer is still able to, you can download this antivirus for 30 days.

As long as there are no injections we are virus free. Our first round of defense code is complete. I think we'll be ok from here too but we are writing in a 2nd round to further bolster the wall as an add'l backstop just to be sure.

sorry for the brief fireworks but luckily we caught these extremely fast and got our team right on it so very few even knew anything happened.

If you want to take it to the next level install these add-ons. (Ad-Block, and No Script)

They are really nice but No Script is kind of a pain at first because it blocks all Scripts Java Etc. You have to allow it on every site you go to, but it remembers it so after a couple of days your browsing experience is normal.

As for not trying to reformat your PC at home????????? I'm sorry but Ray Charles could install Windows XP or Vista.
At one time I had 3 pc's, Power Mac G4 Cube, and two XBOX's running XBMC (Linux based OS) On my pc's running XP Pro I always format the main Hard Drive drive into 2 partitions with the partition the OS is installed to being 15gb. That way when you get a virus that you can't get rid of you can reinstall windows on the 15gb partition without losing everything you want to keep because it is saved to the other partition. In simple terms you turn one Hard Drive into two and it's much easier just to reformat than to try to track down a virus that 9 out of 10 times will come back or do enough damage to cause issues.

Our fixes over the weekend have succeeded and we've been fine since that code was put in place shortly after that first brief assault on our site.

Thanks for the link Enrique...I downloaded a trial subscription and it seems to have located the Trojan Horse and has deleted it.

Good that you got rid of it.. Kaspersky is a good antivirus and as it is not as popular as Norton, so "intelligent" computer virus are less prone to recognize it allowing installation in a already infected computer.
