Default Protech PT-80 Turbine ??

Hi Guys, Anybody have any info/experience on the protech PT-80 turbine. I have access to one and at the moment it looks like one of the injectors have dropped as the jet pipe glows cherry red on one side during start up. I know protech dont support them anymore but I would reall like to get it sorted as I could possibly have it a nice cheap price. I have had 4 simjets varying from 1200-18, 2200, 2300, 2300-25 but am lost with the PT80. Anybody have experience of setting up the ECU and operating these tubines. I have heard in the grapevine that they are repackaged jetcat P80???

I have the manual for it and there was a video floating around on setting up the ECU, calibrating the pump etc. I am going to take it appart to see if one of the injectors has indeed dropped. Will hopefully re-brase in the correct position and go from there?

Any info would be extremely appreciated !! []

Cheers Tim

it is distributed in the netherlands , made in hungary.
pump is made from a waterpump
solenoids use over 2 amps just to open :-)
starter assembly is poor.
CC is made of SS
sticks are SS.
it a basic KJ-66 type engine , calibration is terrible since the pump works everytime different.
ECU is made by Pro-jet.
the guy once contaced us for getting ecu,s to run on his engine.
when i told him they wont work with his Quality pump , he kinda went bazurk.
they where just as good as a hausl..
i do now that NO one had lots of time on them , because of these start problems.
basicly the engine is a good core to get started.
get a hausl pump , Fadec ecu , good solenoids
speed 400 7,4 and it will work fine.

Hi Tim

I doubt an injector has fallen off. It's more likely to be blocked. Just tear it apart, I'm sure you can sort it. Once the manifold is out, connect your gas filler bottle up to it and light the gas that comes out of the needles. You are looking for an even height of flame that varies by the same amount as you turn the gas up and down.

Jason, where can I get some replacement solinoids from at a sensible price. I will strip it down and carry out the burner test. Hopefully it should be easy to clear a blocked injector. I was hoping to replace the pump but keep the project fadec. Thought anyone?

Tim
