Default Gear air leaking question????

I Have a Fly Eagle F 16. the gear holds air fine when gear is up, but when gear is down it goes from 100 psi to 20 psi in about 20 mins.

I have been told I can just inject some silicon lube diret into the filler valve, which I guess is supposed to eventually make its was to the gear cylinders???

Any suggestions here????

You need to know where the leak is first. If you suspect it is an "O" ring in the gear try this, lock the gear into the up position (zip tie or something like that) then set the valve to gear down and see if the air still leaks out. Since the "O" rings are in the same position that was holding air gear up, if you still leak it is probably not the "O" rings. If it does hold air then it could be the "O" rings and the lube can help. With out any pressure in the system put some lube into the fill valve and pump the system up, and then cycle the gear untill the pressure is down, and then repeat a time or two. I have done this a couple times and fixed a slow leak around an "O" ring.

Steven,

Good suggestions. I will try it and hopefully solve the problem. I was worried that putting lube in the fill valve could cause issues, but you are second person to recommend this so I will give it a go.

Cheers,
