Default Installing BVM Tires

I have a BVM F86 and I'm looking for any suggestions as to how to install new tires on the existing hub. Thanks.

The short answer is to buy the appropriate size BVM "Tire Change Tool" and save yourself a lot of aggravation. If however, you want to risk the frustration, try this;

Warm up the tire in hot water. Oil up the rims and start working the tire onto the rim. Wedge in popsicle sticks as you go and use as much downward pressure as you can apply, up to and including standing on the tire (a helper can be useful here). When all this does not work, refer to the short answer above.

I just cut the old tires off. And put some WD-40 on the hubs and inside the new wheels, put them on a flat surface and step evenly with all my weight on them slowly, and they "pop" right on.

Buy the BVM tool or make one. Get an old plastic spinner as close to the diameter of the rim as poss. Put a piece of the proper size dowel in it for the axel. Fill the spinner with epoxy and hold the dowel till it is straight. ( I actually were making these long before BVM so its not a rip off) Now get a piece of plywood and cut a hole in it slightly bigger than the rim. Make the plywood about 18 inches by 6 or so. Boil the new tire, Place the spinner on in the rim on a hard surface, lube it with windex then place the tire on the spinner, put the wood tool over the tire and press down-it will pop right on. Melt the bolt holes with a "T" pin. I have it down where I can do one tire in about 5 mins. Scott
