Al, I think Mick is talking about the AW Hawk with the black dragon down the side. Seen in a heap briefly in one of the vids?
Perhaps it's him who needs that Skygate Hawk?!?
text me!
Or maybe he'd be interested in the new Comp-ARF Hawk just released. It's from smaller Skygate molds! [8D]

The pilot in the firebird says it all really! I can understand his point of view as looking back on it some of the passes today scared me a little
One of the euro at the end of one of Achmeds high alpha passes. A few times he had it below eye level full power and at a 50 deg angle while blowing sand from the runway!!!
That was nothing as on one of the last flights of the day Osama was putting it through a high G routine which fell off the ball a little just in the wrong place. Mahmoud and I were sat in front of the trailer as it went out of view view fully stalled, and I thought that was the end of it. A second or so later we saw it re appear, full power nose super high with its tailpipe in the dirt, sand vortexing behind it and all the guys cheering. One of the best saves I have seen, and I would love to have had it on camera as it would be amazing to watch back. [X(][X(]

I only managed one flight so far on this ex jet masters Strike master. A very nicely built and detailed model which with a bit more nose weight will be spot on to fly.

You would have missed it if you were on the end of the runway!
A photo a Achmed and I going through some aerobatic tuition with the Viper Jet, and another of the viper jet in a knife edge pass... just look at that sky !

Nice car Pete, Crap colour though ( Pearl white.. thats soooo 80's )
Faisal.. It would be my honor to visit Kuwait at anytime you guys invite me. Remember if you need me to test fly something or set something up, or fix your gear doors.. I will be there
But next time I bring a model of mine and you and Achmoud can build it while I sleep!
Last of the photos for tonight..
My generous Host Mahmoud Al Ghanim flying his Cessna citation with consummate style. Both flights he managed to grease the landing better than I did. ( I would like to say it was down to my expert teaching skills, but truth be known these guys can really fly )
Oh and the last shot is the panel of judges getting ready to hand out the flight scores......... Kuwait style!

Hey Presta,
I am making sure I leave 4 days for California jets for sure. You would love it out here my friend, they just love to fly nice models, and they would love your flying style.

Congrats on a good trip bro, I love seeing other groups having as much fun as we are........if they EVER run out of space in that shop, they can send some of the extra birds to California and I will house them in case they want to come visit

I like the picture of the judges sitting around smoking the bongs, probably should adopt that practice at Top Gun.....maybe they will forget your not from the US

hi guys
i just want to say somthing here.
were a group of friends who like our hobby ( we like to call it sport ) and take it seriously, and like to learn more and more about it regarding flying and building.
we keep intouch with the US and EUROPE by watching you on dvd's ,jet events ,jet world masters, top gun, all kind of competitions, and building threads, so we can improve our skills.
we realy look forward to be in the JET WORLD MASTERS . but you know that we are kuwaitis and the masters is held in israel. its politics issue so we cant make it there.too shame
whin politics crash into sport
and i would like to thank
OMAR ALGHANIM for inviting DAVID SHULMAN last week.
and MAHMOUD ALGHANIM for inviting ALI MASHINCHY. to see those two great jet pilots and meet with them and fly with them is a great honor. and we learned alot from them.
and ALI or DAVID you are more than welcome to come to kuwait whenever you like.this invitation goes to anyone likes to visit us . believe me whin i say you will fell a warm welcome.
best regards
hasan

Good to see that you are all open minded and that sport and hobby is able to unite us!
Looks like you are really enjoying your hobby. At the moment most all of the flying has to come to an end as it is a really unusual cold wintertime here in germany. But, hey, maybe we'll see us some days in germany?
Regards

Oh I dont know Gordon. its that tough
First flight of today was on a new Kingcat. Locally built with a Booster 160. Wow it was fast! I have always been more of a Bobcat fan myself, but this Kingcat was hauling and tracked straight as an arrow to boot. I am only sad that I only managed 4 minutes before the booster decided to splutter, but not stop. I then found the throttle delay to be really really slow. ( Like 10 secs ) Strange as I have never experienced this before. ( Any ideas ) Still it carried on running and the Kc landed fine.

Ali check the fuel lines...maybe there's an air leak and cavitation is forming. It happened to me once and it the turbine just didn't quit on me but couldn't accelerate to full throttle.

As I have said before in this post, it really has been an honor to have visited Kuwait and make such great friends. I really admire you guys for the passion you have for the sport and the sheer fun you get from it. I think allot of people could learn from all of you guys, I know some people that read this might think these guys are all oil tycoons who spend vast amounts on this hobby and treat the models as throw away objects that the play with for a few moments then dispose of them.
Trust me, this is far from the truth. Firstly I have yet to meet anyone in Kuwait that works in the oil business ( Although a few of you help fund it with the cars you drive ) , secondly these guys maintain and look after their models as well as anyone I have seen. This shows in the reliability. In 4 days of non stop flying I didn't see a single flame out, gear failure, radio failure or even mishap. In fact the only damage I saw after approaching 100 flights was down to me, and that was a piece of missing paint on the underside of the citation. I bet you I wont be able to sit through q00 flights at Florida jets and see that!
Lastly, no matter how much anyone is to spend on a model, a fleet of models or an entire hobby the one thing they cant buy is enthusiasm. The sheer desire to go out there and have fun, and this I saw in bucket loads. It didnt matter to these guys if they were flying a Skygate Hawk, Euro sport or even a Boomerang Intro. There was always a model in the air at any one time and the guy who landed it always had a smile on his face.
