Hi SHOK,
I'm sorry for your L-39 crash.
I`m watching Your Postings from the FlyEagleJet L-39 / 1:7.
My name is Bernhard and I`m from Vienna ( its the capital of Austria...Lipizzaner, Wiener Walzer....)

I was also in February 2009 with the building and started with the FlyEagleJet L-39 1:7 using a JetCat P-80 Turbine.
The RC-Equipment I use a Futaba FX-30 / 2.4 GHz with return channel for telemetry.
When the brakes and the landing gear cylinders, I had the same problems as well as with rusted iron parts.
Almost all mechanical parts were not usable. The whole process was very sloppy.
After a lot of work takes a long time.
The maiden flight will be one to two weeks .... works really slow everything.

Greetings from Vienna
Bernhard

Hey All

I had the 1:5.5 FEJ L39 and on the second flight the thrust tube collapsed causing the entire tail section to get hot, soften / weaken and give up in flight.
I would urge all modellers to NOT use the standard supplied thrust tube as it is too thin to be reliable.
I would also urge all modellers, if you must use the supplied tube, to very judiciously treat the area around the tail group servos with ceramic cloth and natural air venting where possible to ensure that in the event of an imploded tube the servos don't fail.
Note: I made a cover plate that extended from the hatch to the output hole and treated the hot side with BVM heatshield and the top with ceramic cloth and had the sides open to induce some natural airflow from a NACA cutout either side of the fuse that bled to 4 holes above the output hole. All this should have worked in a normal situation but as before the tube material is simply too thin.

How old was the kit? I thought that FEJ had come out with thicker pipes to eliminate this problem?

I would never dare to fly mine with the stock pipe. I changed it for a wren pipe. Plane is 3 years old now. Flies rock solid.

To revive an old thread:-
I've come into possession of one of these FEJ 1/7 L-39's in the red/silver/white color scheme.
I don't have the manual - can anyone advise on all the recommended control throws? I see from earlier in the thread a CG of 105mm and elevator throw of 20mm is recommended. Anyone know what the aileron & rudder throws should be? The guy who sold me the L-39 warned me that the ailerons were quite sensitive - so I want to get those throws right.
Thanks
