RE: Shok's FlyEagle 1/7th L-39
hello
it's a 65N simjet 1200 AES GE.
L39 ready for maiden since 1 month.. but i find it a little heavy.
weight dry ready for take off is 9.2 kg, so 11 kg with fuel.... i find this weight a little heavy for this little bird... not for the engine, but for the flight characteristic.
I have a simjet 1200 AES GE 75 N on my FEJ F16 1/8.. fly very well and engine is enought!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVRkBAHs2VM
Which is your weigth?
I sell this L39 complete for to buy an engine on my FEJ F18, my simjet nexus is too little (P180 or Franck raptor 190N)
Regards,
Sébastien

RE: Shok's FlyEagle 1/7th L-39
installed nose wheel steering.
This was a pain in the a**. Didn't see any way to install as is, so cut out the servo mount and made it removable.
Made a servo arm to dimensionally match the nose wheel control arm.
Then you have to install the control arms and mark the center of the servo arm, then remove the control arms and install them on the servo.
remove nose retract
place servo and connect control arms to steering arm on nose wheel, replace retract.
nose wheel steering works great.
Used a digital on steering.

Hi guys,
I had lots of missing parts in my kit, so I had to do things my own way.
Not to say that some parts were not up to my standards.
Here are few pics of my flap setup which allows more deflection.
The control linkage is completely concealed.

RE: Shok's FlyEagle 1/7th L-39
ready to fly
dry weight....24lbs
a bit higher than expected, plus it took a good amount in the nose to balance.
Test running the motor to check the fuel system today

Nice video, now just gotta get out and fly it!
Question:
When I slotted mine together to check the fit, and placed the turbine inside, the main gear struts compressed almost to the point of bottoming out. This is before any radio gear, batteries, fuel, etc.
Have any others of you had this problem with weak springs in the mains? My guess is that at RTF weight they will be completely bottomed.
