Default Fuel Weight

Got to wondering how much fuel weight I carry on my Roo.

Looked up some weights on the internet.

Kerosene:

4.822 lbs per gallon, 77.152 ozs.

.603 lbs per pint, 9.648 ozs.

1.2055 lbs per quart, 19.288 ozs.

For whatever it's worth.

Wow, that's incredibly light for kerosene. Are you sure about that weight? Jet-A is usually figured at 6.7 lbs per gallon.

My "standard aviation maintenance handbook" lists the following:

JP-4 - 6.55 lb per gal
JP-5 - 6.82 lb per gal
kerosene - 6.84 lb per gal

for what it's worth.

Default lighter fuel

Pete,
as a 30 year jet jock i'm pretty familiar with the weight of jet fuel.
Jet A, B, or JP'4 all weigh about 6.7lbs/us gallon. Maybe you're thinking of lighter fluid. lol.

Default Roo

I have a JetCat P120 on my Roo which is heavier than the Ram 500, but this plane was also repaired from a crash. I built a Composite Roo for someone else with an AMT Mercury and it also was near the 20# mark.

Default 100 oz tank

The tank came from Plane Plus and is designed for the Roo. I believe it is built by Gary Mueller at Jet Tech.

&^%**^% thats a hell of a big tank in that roo !! how long are your flights ?? when i was flying my roo on a 1.08 and a pusher prop, i had 2 40oz tanks of glo fuel. I was landing after 20 min, and still had another 5 - 10 minutes worth left in there ... i use a 1.7 liter tank for jet a now and get about 6 min out of that ....
